"Catch!"

Austin jumped up and stretched his arm out, catching the ball of ice with his hand before falling back onto the ground. The ice melted, before turning into a flame the size of a hand. The flame was floating right above Austin's hand, but the heat of the flame had no effect on him. Austin smirked cockily, raising his arm and getting ready to throw the fireball.

"Heads up, Tyler!"

Tyler turned around just in time to see the flame flying towards him. His eyes widened before covering his face with his arms, a shield of dirt and sticks emerging out from the ground to protect him.

The flame hit the shield before bouncing back towards Austin who ducked in time, causing the flame to head towards the Water Sign girls. Caitlin and Penny let out frightened squeals and cowered behind Sam as she caught the flame in her hand, protecting her friends. The flame was replaced with a ball of water floating above Sam's hand.

"Careful, assholes."

She threw the ball of water, aiming it at Grayson who was too busy laughing to realize it until it was a centimeter in front of him. He quickly gasped and placed his arms in front of him, causing a gust of wind to knock back the water. His eyebrows furrowed in annoyance.

"Hey! I wasn't the one who threw that!"

"Do I look like I care?" Sam replied, her nonchalant expression spread across her face like it always was. Even with her I-don't-give-a-damn face, her eyes could still freeze over hell. Twice, probably. Grayson had to look away to stop himself from shivering.

Carter grabbed the ball of water, holding it in his hand.

"Is this seriously what you do with your free time?" He squeezed his hand shut, causing the ball of water to burst as water squirted out of his hand. Once he opened his hand again, a small, pink flower was laying on his palm.

"Buzzkill," Leo muttered, crossing his arms and pouting along with Grayson.

Lia grabbed the flower from Carter's hand, looking at it curiously. "Nice! I'll take this~!" She walked off with the flower, leaving Carter a flustered mess.

Margaret watched over the Zodiac Signs from one of the windows of the third floor of Zodiac High and smiled softly.

"They've gotten much better at controlling their powers," she thought out loud, intently watching her students play around with their magic.

"Mmm." Elizabeth, one of the teachers at Zodiac High, nodded in agreement, walking up beside Margaret and looking out over the students. "They've certainly gotten stronger."

Elizabeth looked over at Margaret. "Do you think they'll be able to do it?"

Margaret's expression instantly dropped in a mix of shock and dread, but she quickly covered it up with a smile. "I sure hope so." She let out a laugh, but anyone could tell it was to mask her insecurity.

Elizabeth kept her gaze locked on Margaret. She could tell she was scared.

"Margaret!"

Margaret and Elizabeth turned around to see Clara — the klutz of the teachers. She ran up to her two colleagues, worry spread across her face as she caught up to them and pushed up her glasses.
