A dizzying bright light woke me. I sat up and blinked heavily. My favorite grey blanket fell off of me. I saw Greyson on the couch opposite of me. He was laying on his stomach, his arm flung over his head. I heard crashing and movement from somewhere deeper in the house. I let out a shuddering yawn and looked at my watch. I had an hour before school started. I groaned and went to find the source of the noise.

My dad was in the kitchen, rummaging through the box labeled Kitchen. He looked up sheepishly, "Did I wake you?"

"No, it's okay Dad."

"I thought I would give you and Grey a break. If you don't want to go to school today, that's fine. "

I shook my head. "No, I want to. As soon as possible." He nodded and turned back to his boxes.

I went upstairs and looked through my clothes boxes. I scavenged a pair of dark jeans, a white knit sweater , and my favorite pair of grey ankle boots. I rotated my silver Celtic pattern ring around my right pointer finger. It was the last thing my mother gave to me. I never take it off. I finger combed through my dark brown hair. I straightened it yesterday so I didn't feel the need to today. I huffed and made my way back down stairs. I had 27 minutes to get to school.

I looked back into the living room where Greyson was still snoring away. I went to find Dad and asked, "Where are the keys? " We only brought one car, my dads old red truck. He searched his pocket and came up with the keys. "Good luck today Ridley." He kissed my hair. His worn brown eyes looked tired as me looked at me. He looked like he wanted to say something else, but smiled instead. I found my grey pea coat and walked out the door into the chilly wind.

With help from Google Maps I made it to Ashland High School with minutes to spare. Their school colors were red and white, the Grizzlies. My old school were the wasps. So this was a definite step up. I parked in the parking lot and read the signs as quickly as possible. I somehow made it to the main office. A woman with her raven dark hair in a sleek bun sat at the reception desk. She looked up as I stumbled through the door. "Hi, I'm new here. My name is Ridley. Ridley Sable." I said. She smiled and typed something into her computer. The door opened behind me but I was too preoccupied at the new schedule the lady was showing me. I glanced at the the counter. Mrs. Rudy. Interesting last name. I laughed in my head, realizing how ridiculous my name was as well.

A figure moved in my peripheral vision. A tall, pale boy with untidy black hair walked past me. He was about to walk out when Mrs. Rudy called out,"Have a good day Asher." The boy, well, man, looked back. His eyes flicked up to mine and I nearly gasped out loud. Maybe it was because his eyes, were so different yet so beautiful. His left eye was a warm hazel green while his right was a burning striking amber. Maybe it was the way he looked at me. Like he has known me his entire life. Maybe it was because he looked at he with such sadness and intensity I almost couldn't bear it. Or maybe it was because his right eye, the beautiful nearly gold one, entirely matched the ones on the wolf from my dream. The one I saw yesterday. I was sure of it. He suddenly looked confused and opened the door and walked out. I turned my focus back on Mrs. Rudy.

"That's my son Asher. Don't mind him, he's always so moody. He's a sophomore just like you. She looked at her computer and laughed. "You have the same birthday. " My birthday was nearly a month ago, November 15th. I turned 16 and just got my license. I smiled politely. "So class starts in two minutes. I should of had Asher walk you to class. You have AP English with him. "

"Oh that's alright. I'm good with directions." I took my schedule, folded it and tucked it in my pocket.

She gave me a few more instructions, like how I had open campus lunch and advisory days and such. She wished me luck and sent me on my way. I found the second floor and wandered until I found the E hallway. There it is, room E203. I took a deep breath and walked in just as the first bell rang. Most of the student were talking in groups. Just like my old school. Except here I wasn't part of the groups.
