Brenda ran, feeling her way through the tall fresh spring grass. She could feel the ground beneath her feet tremble, as her heart beat raced along with her. Brenda knew that no matter how fast she ran she would never catch up with Owen, then again he was much older than her.

"Brenda you're running too slow, come on. I know you can catch up!" Brenda looked up, ten feet ahead of her was Owen, the Betas 12-year-old son. Owen glared down at Brenda because he knew that she was a fluke, just like everyone else knew. "Come on Brenda! Dad is gonna kill me if you come home looking like that..."

Brenda looked down to find her long hair tangled with leaves. Her clothes were filthy from the dirt that clung to her sweaty shirt. Brenda looked up again to tell Owen that she'd clean herself before they even got home, but when she looked up at him, she saw terror in his eyes. Owen was looking at something behind her.

Right then Brenda felt rough hands grip her by her hair as a sword was held to her soft thin throat. "Now boy you're going to tell your Alpha that I got his priceless niece. That we will not give her back until we have worked out the arrangement of money." The voice of the rogue man struck horror into Brenda's heart as panic began to pump through her veins. She began to choke on her own air and with the panic attack that hit her, so did the asthma attack. Out of all the times for her to have one, it just had to be at this horrific moment.

"Brenda, Listen to me! Breath in deeply and don't panic, I'll be back!" Brenda saw fear and remorse develope in Owen's eyes as he turned his back to her running away to get her uncle Sebastian. But why would Sebastian risk his life for her? She was a fluke, a mistake. The mistake that got her parents killed.

Brenda knew this was her last chance to escape while the rouge man wondered why she was coughing and choking. With all the strength she could muster, Brenda kicked the son of a bitch in his crotch. She felt his grip weaken as he fell to the floor, as soon as her feet touched the ground she took that opportunity to run like hell.

"Don't let the little bitch get away!! BASTARDS, GRAB HER!!"
