I watched as everyone in my class prepared themselves for the test that would help us to decide what factor to choose to stay with for the rest of our lives. I leaned back and thought about each of the four factors. They were Valorous, Unanimity, Equity, and Durable.

The Valorous were courageous and could be hot-headed. They were represented by burning embers. Those who chose Valorous would most likely need to be fit and at least a little athletic. Valorous wore reds and blacks. Red showed their hotheadedness, while black showed how fearless they were.

The Unanimity were tranquil and peaceful. They were represented by feathers. Those who chose Unanimity would most likely need to be the more selfless. The Unanimity wore beiges and greys. The two colors represented the peace and tranquility that they kept from day to day.

The Equity were well balanced, worked well with just about anyone, and absolutely loved the water. They were represented by water. Those whose chose Equity would most likely need to be those who were kind but thought about themselves as much as they thought about others, or those that love water. The Equity wore blues and white. White showed their kindness, and blue showed their love for water.

The Durable were hard-working, strong, and nature-loving. They were represented by clobs of dirt. Those who chose Durable would be either buffer than those in other factors, or closer to nature than those in other factors. The Durable wore greens and browns. Green stood for nature, and brown stood for hard-work.

I looked around at my classmates. There was a pair of twins on the other side of the room who were from the Equity Factor. Their names were David and Shawn. They were pretty cool. They looked over at me and whispered something to each other.

David came over and said, "Sage, do you think the three of us will choose different factors?"

I sighed and said, "I hope not, but there is a greater possibility of it happening."

Shawn showed up behind David and said, "That's what I thought you would say. I hope we can all go to the same factor, but we all need to be happy with our own choices too."

I laughed and said, "You will most likely want to go to Unanimity or stay in Equity. David will want to stay with both of us, but we all know that you and I are way too different to even attempt to put up with the others chosen factor. Shawn, you are more peaceful than I am. I argue more than half of the people we know." A small smile remained on my face. "David will then be forced to choose between the two of us or go off on his own. David, you should stay with your brother. You are perfect for Equity and Unanimity. I don't want you two to split up or be split up from you two, but I know that I won't be with either of you two."

David pouted and said, "But... We promised that we would stay friends forever."

I grinned as I remembered when we made that promise. "I never said that we would stop being friends. I'll visit you two as soon as the initiation is over."

Shawn chuckled and said, "If you pass that is."

I raised an eyebrow at this. "Who says that I won't pass? Even if I don't pass, I'll find a way to visit you, but I will pass the initiation."

Our teacher asked everyone to take their seats. David and Shawn went back to their seats. Once everyone was seated, our teacher handed out a one-page test. The first few questions just asked about our personalities. Half-way through the front of the page the questions started asking for our opinions on things. The last half on the back of the page had two questions.

The next-to-last question read, "What is your favorite out of the four? A) Fire; B) Air; C) Earth; D) Water" I quickly circled my answer.

The last question read," Can you control one of the previous answers mentioned? Yes; no" I decided to lie and circled 'no.'
