Dear Reader:
This is my first story ever, and of course it has to be about One Direction-- specifically, Harry Styles. The beginning is a bit slow but I think it really helps develop the main character, Victoria. I promise, it does pick up after like the third-ish chapter. I have already written the first 16 chapters and am no where near to being done. I am always extremely busy with school and my church so I'm not too sure how often I will be able to update yet; I need to make a system that I will stick to.
Feedback is always appreciated. just please be respectful to me and to others. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
And major thanks to my best friend, Holly, for making my cover photo. I came up with the idea and she ran with it. Such a talented artist and a wonderful friend! :)
So without further adieu.... Across the Pond.

Chapter 1
"Have a nice and safe break, guys," my English professor announced at the end of class. "Thanks, You too Mrs. Denbow," I answered as I packed u[ my things for the last time. "Hey, Tori! Are you coming to the party tonight?" my best guy friend, Brandon, asked. "I'm not too sure yet." I answered. "Well you should! It's your senior year, T!" he coaxed. "I mean, I guess. But I gotta go now. See ya" I said. "See ya" Brandon called as I turned on my heels and walked out of the room with my best friend, Elizabeth.
"Hey Liz, are you coming home with me today?" I asked. "Yea girl!" she answered happily, "but aren't we going to the Christmas party tonight?" she added. "Do you really wanna go?" I asked, doubtful. "Yes!" Liz exclaimed. "Seriously! It's our last chance" she added. She's right. After I go home tonight, I won't be back here til graduation. I nodded as we walked into Einstein's café in the library on campus.
As soon as I walk in, I can smell the freshly brewed coffee and cold sandwiches. I always enjoy coming in here with friends when I want to unwind. "Hey, Miss Davis! Your regular again?" the barista asked me. "Yes ma'am." I answered with a wide smile. "Coming right up, hun" she said. I hand over my $2.75 and step to the side.
Liz ordered the same thing I did: a tall vanilla bean frappuchino with a shot of espresso. Moment later, our drinks were ready and Liz and I took our drinks and walked tot he lush, red couch in the corner of the room. I dropped my backpack and purse on the floor and plopped down in the couch, exhausted. I curled up in a ball and started talking with Liz again.
"So what are your plans for the break?" I asked. "I'm just gonna breathe before next semester. Probably hang out with Jason a lot because he'll be home too." Liz answered. "Oh yea, how are y'all? It's been a while since you've seen each other, right?! I asked. Liz's face always lights up when she talked about her boyfriend; it's so cute. "Good" she blushes. "No, I haven't seen him since, like, the beginning of last month" she said. "Aww, well you don't have to wait any longer" I smiled. "I know!" Liz squeaked. She's the cutest when she talks about him.
"Okay, we better go get ready for the party" she said, standing up. I sighed, stood up and grabbed my bags. "Oh, come on. You'll have fun! Promise. It's our last one" Liz reminds me. I smiled and nodded. "Yea, Yea, yea" I waved as we walked to our dorm.

A/N:
So there ya have it; the first chapter. Boring, I know, but just bear with me a little while longer. I am going to get the first several chapters down before I actually publish it and I will always have more chapters already written and ready. After that, I will try to update once a week if all goes as planned.
