I placed my phone onto my bedside table and sighed, turning my head to Brandon, who was lying next to me, looking at me with an empathetic expression plastered onto his face.
"Of course they did, of course the guy I love and my best friend kissed. (IDK WHY BUT CON AND JACOB WERE BEST FRIENDS OKAY DEAL WITH IT) That just what I needed right now. Just another small thing to tear my small paper life into smaller shreds." I covered my face with my hands and laughed.
"I guess I shouldn't say best friend, more like backstabbing bitch who should stop being a fucking suck up and who gets everything he wants at the click of his stupid, expensive, manicured fingers!" I sighed once more and buried my face into Brandon's shoulder.
"Connor," Brandon wrapped his arms around me in a hug, "You know he loves you and not him."
"He kissed another guy." My voice seemed to be caught in my throat as I struggled to form words while holding back tears. I didn't get a reply for what seemed forever and looked up to see Brandon looking down at me.
"You're in love with him and he's in love with you and it's like a goddamn tragedy because you look at him and see the stars and he looks at you and sees the sun and you both think the other is just looking at the ground."
"You know that's not the truth."
"I know it is the truth. Everyday he asks why you aren't at school. He asks if you're alright. If you actually checked your phone you would realize how many missed calls you have gotten. You haven't been at school for almost a week!"
