Still Here

Krystal's POV 🐇🐱

Demi managed to get me to watch a movie with her. I'm lying down on one side of the couch on my side with my knees to my chest and Demi is sitting on the other side half smiling-half not. We are watching 'Cloudy at the chance of Meatballs' and I got bored after 30 minutes of watching since I'm not used to watching movies.

I was just about to fall asleep till I hear Demi's voice. "Honey, what do you want for lunch?" She asked making me look over to her. I just shrugged  mostly because I don't want to talk to her and I don't know what I want.

She left the living room and returned after 20 minutes with two plates with PB&J's. Does it really take that long to make two sandwiches? I did hear her talk to someone, but I know there is no one else on the house. What was she doing?

"Thanks..." I said when she handed me a plate. She just smiled and sat down next to me causing me to scoot away. The last time she sat right next to me, it ended really bad. I don't even want to explain it....

Her smile soon faded and she sighed. She played the movie we were watching and we started eating.

*3 hours later*

You are probably thinking 'shouldn't she be in school?' Well I was in school, I'm being homeschooled. Every time I was in school I tried my best to make sure I didn't go home. I still did it after Demi changed so she decided to homeschool me. I'm still allowed to go to my friends' houses and they are allowed here but they have school and homework. I also get homework but I always finish my work before the lesson finishes. Well almost always.

I'm in my room right now listening to music. You can't be in a silent room all the time. You always need something in the background.

I heard a knock on the door and Demi walked in, "hey sweetheart", she said walking towards me, "I bought something for you", she gave me a small box and I opened it. Inside was a necklace with writing on it. I help it up so I can read it and it said 'MY BABYGIRL' . I frowned lowered my the necklace back down. "Do you not like it" Demi asked and I looked back up.

"N-No I do.....it's just" I sighed and pulled out my old necklace from my pocket. She got it for me when I was only two years old. It says 'I love you' on it. I just looked down.

She told me that she is gonna touch me and I let her. She pulled me in for a hug. "Honey, it doesn't mean your old one has no meaning. You don't have to wear the new one if you some want to. You can also wear both. It's your choice, love" she said smiling.

I looked up at her and for some reason I smiled and hugged her, "thank you mom". Yes I still say mom mostly because I don't want to hurt her. I called her Demi once.....just the look on her face made me feel terrible about it so I stopped. When I started calling her mom again she smiles every time as if it rarely happens.

"You alright, baby?" Demi asked worried. I realised that I zoned out for a while.

"Y-Yea I'm fine" I said trying so hard not to start crying. I felt her hand on my cheek then everything went black....
