Chapter 1

"Aqua, you don't want to be late for your first day." My mom yelled from downstairs. "No wouldn't want that"

I am a freshman in high school and just moved to North Carolina. I used to live in Ohio, but we needed a change. My sister Shelly(12yrs) and my sister Pearl (14yrs) didn't think so. We made it. And time for my first day. So I wanted to pick the best clothes I have because in high school, style (apparently) is everything.

I picked out my skinny capri-length jeans, my black tank and overtop a beautiful blue sequin see through short sleeved jacket. With black slip-on shoes.

I have to admit, I am not that pretty. I have dark brown hair, dark brown eyes and my skin always has a light tan. I am chubby, but it isn't noticeable. And in my hair there is a blue streak that has been there ever since I was born. No one knows why.

"Aqua! Hurry up we are going to be late! Your sisters are ready to go!"My dad yelled. "Coming!" I hurried downstairs, grabbed my book bag and ran out the door.

My sister Shelly has really light brown hair and hazel eyes. My sister Pearl has reddish brown hair and light brown eyes. And they both act like they are everything! "Omg, did u here what amber said to me on the phone?" "No what did she say?" "Her boyfriend Jack, and omg she gave tmi bout what jack said." I could here them talking in the car the whole way to the school.

"Well we are here." My mom and dad said. "Wow!" I said. It was a HUGE school. It was about 4 levels high. Made with beautiful red brick which told me it wasn't a new school, but it wasn't that old."We will pick you up after school okay." "ya sure" I said still amazed. I walked in and my sisters went to the junior high section of the school, while I was walking.

"Hey! Watch where you're... I am sorry I ran into you. Hi I am Jake and you are?" A cute guy with short brown hair and glasses. I now couldn't speak, he is so dreamy. "Hi I am Aqua." I said shyly. "Hi Aqua, what grade are you in?" He asked "9th, well ima, ima freshman." I felt so stupid, If I was him I would burst out laughing. But, he didn't. He just smiled and said "Me too, I am in Mrs. Drakes homeroom, who's are you in?" I pulled out my schedule that I got in the mail and showed him all of my classes. We both had 1st period (study hall), 2nd (Algebra 2), 4th (English 101), lunch, and 6th (History). If you need help finding your classes I can help you. His eyes lit up and I could tell he was hoping for a yes. "Sure, do you think you could help today?" I gave him a smile. You could tell he was happy. "Of course, we do not go to homeroom first period, we go straight to study hall. We only go to homeroom on progress report day and report card day." The bell rang and he took me to first period.

After 7th period (which is our mini-I have art) I ran into Jake again. "Oh," His cheeks got red "hi Aqua, do you need anything, I could walk you home....." His voice started to trail off and his whole face got beat red. "Actually," He looked nervous, "My parents were going to pick me up, but I could call them. I'll just say I am walking home with a friend." He smiled, and when I turned away I heard him say yes!

I called my mom and she said she didn't care. I told Jake this and he seemed very happy, but he just was like 'Cool'

2 weeks later Jake and I were like best friends. I also met a girl named Sasha, who was really shy and seemed like a loner. During core, Jake came up to me and asked if he could talk to me privately. I got all shaken up after he said that. "Would you like to go to lunch with me tomorrow? Tomorrow is Saturday right?" He asked nervously. "Yes tomorrow is Saturday." I said "I will ask my parents, and then call you what's your number?" He wrote something down on a piece of paper, I did the same. "I will let you know." "Okay, great!" He said and walked back to his desk.
