I can still remember that day.It was May 15, 2016. I am in the car going off to Burmingham and my phone notified me with a message. It was Em, the head of the page saying I got accepted as an admin just because of that carelessly written tragic one shot I made for the contest. I never actually thought I'll be a part of this, you know. I wasn't hoping for anything. I just wanted to share what I have made. But look, I eventually got the spot and now I am so happy that I sent that one shot one night, having no hopes up.
What I experienced in my 7 months of being an admin was something I haven't experienced before.
One of my favorite things was when I literally focused in my phone the whole day even if we're going shopping in Burmingham just to talk to the admins. They were sooo kind and friendly that I easily felt welcomed. I think it was just a matter of minutes then I decided Nah, I'm going to ignore the world for a while. I'm going to spend my time with these new friends I found. I didn't even bother to notice what I was eating at Nando's so I ended up swallowing chicken with hot sauce. Yes.
As you may have noticed, that day I was accepted as an admin, as BrodieBaby, the other admins were already planning for the page's activity for Thomas' birthday the next day. It was such an honor to be part of that celebration. I love Thomas. I love the page. That's basically all I could ask for.
So on I went, chatting my suggestions in our group. Offering my help to them in case they needed it. And they sure did, since I'm the one who's currently in the same country as Thomas---The United Kingdom (it's only a vacation though) so I took in charge while they sleep since we have different time zones.
I will never forget how they took time to assign my posting schedule for Thomas' birthday because they even considered the time zone that I was in so I don't have to worry about it anymore.
And then came my first post. It was a birthday poster I made for Thomas.
You people showed so much love for my first participation on the page. It was actually my first time being an admin and getting thousands of likes in just one post! But trust me, it's not about the numbers, it's about the people that smiled because of my posts.
Whenever I think back to my summer in London, I always remember Thomas Brodie-Sangster Fans. The page that came unexpectedly but turned out as a blessing. I miss London not just because of the places there, or the people, but the memories I had. That's when I got the message. When I first told them I'm currently out of the country. When they took some time to talk to me even if it's already late in their time zones. It's all fun. I felt so happy. I even remembered staying up at 00:00 on TBS' birthday just to greet him and that was one of my achievements, as silly as it sounds.
There are times when I think about giving up. But then I always think back to that moment, to those precious minutes, hours, days I spent my summer with online and I eventually ignore the thought of quitting.
I love this page. I love the admins. I love the fans. I love Thomas. I love the memories. I love the experience.
I am so thankful to be part of this family.
-BrodieBaby.
