Love at Hogwarts

Chapter 15

Fred's POV

I stood anxiously awaiting my princess. What if she ditched me?! What if she realized I was a complete baffoon and fled for the hills?! I could feel a panic attack settling in as my breathing increased. But then it stopped. There she was, Hermione Granger. She strolled over to me blushing wildly looking at her feet.
"You look beautiful," I breathed as she stopped in front of me. I bowed low and kissed her hand.
"And you are dashing," she replied sheepishly.
I led her to the door and we made our way to Hogsmeade.
We made our way past Madam Puddifoot's when I had a wonderful idea.
"Hermione, how about we stop here for a cup of tea?" I ask with a fake excited grin on my face.

Hermione's POV

Was he serious?! That place made me sick! But he looked so excited.
"Ok," I replied unsteadily.
" 'Mione, you know that place is sickening! I was only joking with you!" Fred replied to my nervous response.
"Oh thank Merlin!" I breathed a sigh of relief. I should have notice the twinkle of mischief in his mesmerizing eyes.
We padded down the well worn path to the Three Broomsticks. We found a nice table towards the back of the pub. Fred went to get our drinks. Butterbeer of course. When he came back he gave me my drink and I thanked him. I took a sip greedily sighing in delight at the rich and creamy flavor.
"You got a little something there," Fred said pointing to his lip. I wiped my mouth.
"No here," he said as he moved closer to me before wiping the froth of for me. My heart was fluttering in my chest as I felt the familiar warmth spread across my face.
"Thanks," I whisper quietly.
The rest of the date went by smoothly though I new my face would hurt later from smiling so much. I had had the best time of my life. As we walked hand in hand back to Hogwarts I knew that Fred was the one I wanted. I wanted to grow old with this boy. If it hadn't been for this sudden realization I would have noticed the red angry face of my best friend. His blue eyes glistening with tears as he stormed away. But I hadn't noticed because in that moment Fred took a chance and kissed me.
