For Me

You need to think about yourself. You need to think about the things that you want to do. You need to think what is going to benefit you.

What will make you happy?

What makes me happy?

You need to care less. Yes, that one guy apparently likes you, but so what if he doesn't actually speak to you. What do you really need to focus on? What do you really need to prioritise? It's your last few months at this school, do you really want to waste it on that one guy who on the off chance could like you, but hey, he's never spoken to you so the chance he's not worth it is even bigger. It can't be your fault that he's not worth it, because you need to think about what will make you happy.

Happy. Be happy. I beg you, be happy and think about what you have and appreciate it. You're 17, my love. If you don't currently have what you want, so what? You have the rest of your life, so for now I want you to think about what you do have and I want you to feel that. The feeling of fulfilment.

You've got your mum. She's 37. She's made herself a life and what a strong character she is. She is beautiful and don't you ever doubt that she doesn't know what is best for you. Maybe she's a little biased about where to go for University (you can't blame her for not wanting you to go to Scotland, even you don't want to go that far). Your mum is strong, beautiful, clever, loving and the apple will not fall too far from the tree. You can look up to her and be proud of her. Don't ever say you hate her, you don't hate her- you just hate what she's said or something she's done but you know that whatever it is, it's all been done for a reason- to make you happy at some point in the future, and to keep you happy.

You have your dad. He's the most hard working, selfless person you could have ever known, and if you ever think about giving up on your dreams think about all the things he has done for you, and think about all the promises you'd made yourself about giving it all back to him. That feeling you know he will get when he realises that it was all worth it- working 3am to 3am, coming home to eat and see you and then going out again, for a job where people take advantage of him, and where he could be in danger. He's there for you, and he wants the best for you.

You have the most beautiful parents, and I don't want you to ever take them for granted, and think "oh, i'll say thank you later". Say thank you now, because whilst you're 17 and they're young, always appreciate.

Appreciate everything you have, from the opportunities you have, to the messy bedroom you have.

Appreciate it, and understand that the only way to enjoy everything, is by being happy and realising that this story has not ended. You've not even finished a chapter of this story, so don't give up and read the rest of it with an open mind.
