"Ive! Come down so we can get pictures!" Mom chants while my twin brother, Keon, (not from OGOC just a boy) dreadfully walks down the stairs. It was the first day of school and I did intend on not trying to make friends since I'm probably gonna end up dreading every day of school.
"Sorry Mom, just gotta fix my dress," I say to her as I look myself in the mirror of the living room. I rearrange the end of my stripes t-shirt like dress with a white bralette peeking out of it.
"Take your time," Mom says nodding her head. I know what she really means, "Hurry the f up".
"C'mon Ive, you've already taken like an hour!" Keon complains, adjusting his glasses.
"Yeah, that explains why I look good and you well, look below average which is actually an improvement," I say grinning at my own joke.
"Ha, ha," he says and fake laughs.
"I know, I'm super funny! No wonder I've had so many boyfriends and you've only had oh yeah! Zero girls!" I say back.
"Yeah maybe because I'm not a player!" Keon says, nudging me in the side.
"Okay guys lets calm down before this really gets out of hand," Mom says stopping us. Lately Mom's been feeling sick and acting kind of down.
"Well, bye Mom! We have to head out now. Have a great day!" Keon says. He steps out and kisses Mom's cheek. I flip my car keys around on my finger.
"Bye Mom, love you!" I hug her and walk out the door that Keon opened. I shut it behind me, and I smile as I see my Jeep in the driveway.
"You're so weird Ive," Keon rolls his eyes as he leans against my car and scrolls through something on his phone. "Hey you know Hayes Grier?"
"Shut up Keon! You know I know him!" I roll my eyes at him and unlock my car. I open my door and put my backpack in the backseat. Keon does the same and then shuts his door and double taps his phone screen.
"He and his friends go to Damond," Keon says and I leave my mouth open and slap his arm. I know Hayes from the summer when we met at the pool and well we kind of got together multiple times. But just kind of like a summer relationship, not like friends with benefits kind of situation.
"Holy balls! I swear if you're lying you won't be able to hold your shit anymore!" I say to him as I start my car.
"Um, hey? I would never lie to you!" Keon says dramatically.
"Yeah even I don't believe that Keon," I laugh as I drive to school.
"Ha! You proved that you're stupid!" Keon laughs as he turns up the music.

"Hello Damond," Keon says as he and I step out of the car. I walk over to his side and nudge him in the side. I fix my backpack and Keon pushes up his glasses. I see a guy eye me big time, especially at my butt. "Hey dude! That's my sister!"
"Keon, calm bro," I say, putting my hand in front of him.
"That dude was staring at your ass! Not cool," Keon mutters.
"Let's just go," I nod my head towards the entrance of Damond, and he nods his head in approval. We walk towards the entrance and he opens the door for me. "Thanks K."
"Yeah, no problem-" Keon says but cuts himself off as he sees a girl walking towards him.
"Hi, you must be the new boy, Keon, right? You're hot, party at my house Friday night," she says to him and winks before leaving. His eyes are attracted to her ass. I hit him in the stomach and he almost yells at me.
"K, you understand that there's no way Dad's gonna let you go to that party? And anyways, we have to go to the lobby," I tell him. His eyes still wide from looking at that girl's butt. We go into the office, and I notice the boy standing in front of the desk from summer. I remember his face, and automatically think: Johnson.
"Um, hello? We're new here," I say to the lady at the desk.
"Oh, yes! There's two juniors here that will be showing you guys around Damond," the desk lady continues. "Here is Shawn Mendez for Keon Johnson."
"Hi there," the boy standing next to her says to Keon. I also remember him from summer. Keon and Shawn walk off, and then there's me with some girl standing next to the lady.
"Here's Maggie Lindemann for Ivory," the lady says and I smile at the pretty brunette girl standing next to the desk lady. Maggie smiles back.
"Hi, I'm Maggie!" The girl says as we walk to my given locker.
"Hi, I'm Ivory," I say to her as we look at my stupid schedule.
"So, where you from?" Maggie asks as we walk down a long hallway.
"I'm from Iowa," I say to her.
"Really? That's cool, you look more like a California babe," she says and I laugh. "Here's your locker. And, I'll just wait for you 'cause we got home room together."
"Thanks so much Maggie," I say as I put in my locker passcode. It opens with a click and I look around in it. "Do you think that I'll really need this at all?"
"Yeah, no," she laughs. "I mean, usually I just store extra shit that I forget to bring home." I laugh.
"Okay, where's home room?" I ask her, changing the subject.
"Mr Delfig's," she groans as I shut my locker. We continue to walk miles to get to the classroom.
"What does he teach?" I ask.
"Zoology, biology, and engineering," she names all the boring classes.
"Are you kidding? Those are like the worst classes ever!" I say. She nods her head.
"Don't get me started! And, he's not the best teacher and we get to spend a whopping 50 minutes here everyday!" Maggie groans. I nod my head dreadfully as we get to the classroom. As soon as I walk in, I see those blue ocean eyes.
Hayes.
