They traveled for days to get away from the crumbling Valence.
The two friends made their way to the city of Rahlic. They did their best to stay unnoticed and out of trouble. That didn't last.
Deus was in a store looking for a new outfit, since his old one was torn, when he heard a conversation. A loud, angry conversation.
"I hope you burn in a fucking ditch! You have to be one of the stupidest mother-"
"Miss please contain your profanity!" A male voice sounded.
"I will fucking not! I don't give a shit who you are, you do not disrespect me!" The woman shouted angrily,
Deus walked over and tapped her shoulder, "Is everything okay?" He grinned nervously.
She turned to face him, "Yes," She glared at the cashier, "Everything is fine."
The cashier shouted, "Security!" Two huge men came running from somewhere, after them.
The woman grabbed Deus by the wrist and started running, turning into back alleyways and other shortcuts.
After about 30 minutes of running thy stopped.
Deus glanced at her, taking in her features. Jet black hair in a crunched and messy ponytail, perfectly tan skin, a gentle jawline and perfect nose. And emerald green eyes. She was wearing black combat boots, knee high socks, a short red skirt, a black sleeveless crop top and elbow length black gloves. All matching perfectly against her skin.
"So what's your name?" She asked. And god, she had the voice of an angel.
"Deus. And you?" He looked at her, staring a bit.
"Ash. Nice to meet you." She gave a genuine smile. "New around here?"
He nodded and smiled back. "Yeah, I was just wandering a bit."
She giggled, "Care for a tour big boy?" She batted her eyelashes a little and laughed.
He flushed a bit, "S-sure." He said sheepishly.
She grabbed his wrist and pulled him along with her, showing him around the small town. It wasn't as big as Valence but it surely was as beautiful. Or it may have been her.

When the sun started to set they went back to where Deus and Mason were staying.
She looks at him, "So...um...do you mind if I crash here for the night? I don't have anywhere to stay..." She looked at her feet.
He laughed, "Of course, no worries." He opened the door and invited her in.
They walked in just as Mason turned the corner to go into the main room.
"Hey Deus, I-" The tray of food he was holding dropped as fast as his jaw.
"Um, Mason, this is Ash. Ash, this is Mason." He introduced them awkwardly.
She smiled shyly and gave a small wave.
"I told her she could stay a while. She showed me around the city today." He smiled at her, to which she blushed a bit.
"Okay fine. But you two sleep on the couches, I'm getting the bedroom tonight." Mason stated.

The three of them went to sleep, Mason in the bedroom and Deus and Ash sleeping on the opposite couches in the living room. She had woken up after a few hours.
He noticed she was awake after he was awoken by stirring and movement.
"Can't sleep?" He asked quietly.
She nodded drowsily.
He sat up and patted the spot beside him.
She went and sat beside him. They had talked a lot yesterday and gotten to know each other fairly well.
She could feel the warmth radiating off him, and she had just noticed he was shirtless. All she was wearing was a tank top and a pair of dangerously short shorts. She blushed looking at his exposed chest and mid-section.
"Why can't you sleep?" He asked, his breath grazing her face.
"I'm cold..." She whispered softly.
He pulled her closer and put his blanket around her, hugging her tightly.
She turned scarlet red and her cheeks burned intensely. "Y-you didn't h-have to do this..." She muttered. She felt embarrassed being against his exposed body, but he was so warm, and she didn't want to move away.
He chuckled, "You okay?"
"Y-yes. This seems a bit close though. Are you sure you're comfortable with it?" She whispered to him
He nodded and pulled her even closer.
She smiled and started talking quietly, just about everything. She eventually went to sleep talking, her arms locked around his neck and her head buried in the crook of it. He tried to move her back to her couch so he wouldn't wake her, but the sleeping Ash had different plans.
She cuddled up to him and refused to let go. So he decided to let her stay.
He eventually went to sleep as well, stroking her hair softly.

She woke up a bit later to find herself in a Deus-Ash pretzel and her face only centimeters from his. She moved slightly and kissed his nose. She hasn't even known him a day and she's falling for him. Love at first sight she guessed. She fell back asleep after a few minutes, cuddling him.

The next morning Mason came running down the stairs and yelled, "Good morning bitches!"
Deus jumped, causing Ash to jump and squeal. She also fell off of him, hitting the floor.
"You son of a bitch!" She yelled. Great way to start the morning.
