The bell rang for period 5.
The whole day she had been teased for wearing what she wanted.
They called her names like "horsey girl" and "try hard"
She went home crying.
Jack tried to call her but she didn't feel like talking.
She ran out to Charli and took off his rug and galloped away.
No saddle.
No bridle.
Just Charli and her.
They where out in the bush for 30 minutes when they turned a corner.
A huge horse float.
The two men in the car saw her and said "move away little girl. I have a blunderbuss in the back"
She looked around.
"What are you doing with them?"
"Get off" one of the men said "get the hell off"
Her heart was racing. She didn't know what to do.
She jumped off not knowing what was happening.
They grabbed her. Pulling her away.
Charli was standing there rearing with fear.
One of the men got the blunderbuss out of the car.
Tears ran down Amy's face. She screamed "SHOOT ME NOT HIM"
They fired a shot into the sky.
Charli galloped away. He galloped all the was to Jacks house.
He bucked and kicked. Making as much noise to get Jacks attention from inside.
Jack come running out.
"Charli?" He said.
Charli cantered and trotted around in circles.
Jack got on Wilbur and galloped after him.
They got to where the truck had been. The blunderbuss on the ground.
Charli saw one of the men running away.
And raced over to him.
Jack followed.
