Dawn O'shea's Point of View
"Ugh shit", I silently murmur when I realize that I left my binders in the other class. The school day is almost over and I have had a tough day. I race down the three flights of stairs and grab my things. Glancing at the clock, I realize I have about one minute left so I bolt up the stairs and drop into my seat. But when I look up I see 24 faces that I have never seen in my life, and realize that I am in the wrong class. As I collect my things, trying not to feel embarrassed but I can feel my face turning red and flushed, so I stand up and try the correct room. I run into the class room panting at the perfect time. Just as the teacher calls my name for attendance... I drop my things onto my desk and turn my attention to my teacher, who does not look happy at all with me.
Teacher's Point of View
"Ughhh", none of these unappreciative little brats come to class on time, and none pay attention to my class. They all act like babies when then want something. But they are not sweet like babies when it is something they have to do. They even talk back. Well, just to prove my point, Dawn comes running in, her things overflowing from her hands, and makes it just in time to her desk. I send the attendance down and glance at the clock before starting another useless lesson. 30 more minutes until the school ends, says the clock, pulling me back into the reality. So I turn back to the students, and all I see is a bunch of heads looking down at their phones, and the rare students who take out her homework. Suddenly, I hear a knock at the door, distracting me from my thoughts and I turn to look.
New Girl's Point of View
"Ughhh", I am feeling so nervous as I knock at the classroom door. I slowly walk into the room, and the turning of heads startles me. I make my way to the front of the class as the teacher introduces me. Luckily most of the kids turn their attention back to their phones, except for one girl in the back. After the teacher introduces me to the class, I make my way to the back of the room to sit next to her. Then I see her smile at me and I feel right away that this school will be different. At my old schools, I would usually be bullied, and teased. I was almost sure that the same would happen at this school. She introduces herself quietly - her name is Dawn. Then I look at the clock and see that there are only 30 minutes left. My mother insisted that I went to school today, even if just to say hello - she knew there were only 30 minutes left. We just had moved from Mexico, and we had just gotten off the plane, and my mother rushed me to go to school today to make more friends. Realizing that we are still in class, I turn my attention to the teacher, who was now explaining a lesson.
Everyone Else's Point of View
"Come on, come on," the entire class is looking up to the clock, including the teacher, watching the hands slowly tick by. With minutes until the end of school, nobody can wait until they are allowed to leave. It's kind of sad how the only time the entire class is quiet when class is almost over. These kids do not seem to understand what a privilege school is and what they are missing out one. And so as the clock slowly strikes 4:00, and the bell goes, the chairs crash and the yelling of the student's voices begin.
