It was extremely dark that night, and cold. I was going to be on my phone all night, as usual. I looked at the clock. It read: 1:47, not that late. I rubbed my eyes and went back to staring at my bright iPhone screen. Suddenly a hot blast filled the room. Too hot. I glanced up, that was not normal, the heat felt like a newly erupted volcano. Definitely not normal, especially on such a cold night. A dark shadow stood beside my shelf, that was not human. My eyes became adjusted to the blackness and the shadow reviled itself to be a man, around my age. A man, not a human. He had horns above his forehead and was wearing a black suit with black shoes. My attention turned to his features. He had brown, quite curly, frizzy hair that curled around the bottom of his horns. He had a strong muscular build, and hazel eyes that shone, but had a dark touch to them also. I started sweating because of the heat, and being scared stiff.

"Hi" his voice was rough but soft.

How was that possible?

He walked towards me, leaving a heat wave behind him. I dropped my phone in shock.

Shit. I thought.

"I'm Satan" He said.

Satan? Did he just say Satan? The devil? I thought.

"What's you name?" He asked. Casually crossing his legs over each other.

"Sh- Shannon" I stuttered.

"Nice name" he chuckled darkly.

I thought about escaping. Bolting out the door. I stood up, my knees wobbling, threatening to buckle. I was ready to sprint when he stopped me by holding my arm. The touch caused me to sweat even more, it was like fire lapping at my skin. It felt surprisingly amazing.

"I'm sorry about disturbing you Shannon, I won't hurt you" He said calmly, but tense.

"What do you want from me?" I whimpered.

"Nothing" He replied. He let go of my arm and looked into my eyes coldly. I found the courage to say:

"Are you really the devil?"

"Yes, why?" He grinned like a cat.

"It's just, I didn't expect Satan to be like you"

His eyes turned darker.

"Is that a bad thing?" He asked. A small tint of annoyance in his voice.

"No, no. It doesn't matter" I said, scared. I suddenly realised something.

"If you are the devil, what are you doing on earth?" I questioned.

"I like to come here sometimes, it makes me feel different. I am finally away from that fiery, awful place." He sighed.

Wow, this really is Satan.

"It's been nice talking to you Shannon" Satan said.

"I'm afraid I have to leave now"

"Will you come back?" I said, shocked at what I had said. He saw my shocked expression and chuckled.

"Possibly. Soon." and with that he disappeared. He just disappeared into the shadows.

I had a conversation with Satan, and he wasn't as bad as I thought he would be. I said to myself. I don't know why, but I wanted him to come back.

To be continued.
