My bed was cold. Well it almost always is. I decided to get up, I'm wearing socks since my floor is freezing also. I live alone, so there's not any people to warm up my house, though I wish there was. I could invite my friend Marisa over, but she mostly hangs out with her boyfriend Anthony. I make my way to the kitchen thinking about them. I was friends with her since kindergarten and Anthony I had meet him in high school and we became pretty close. When Marisa decided to move out here with me I had introduced them to each other. Things sparked immediately and after a few months she had moved in with him. A smile crossed my face thinking about them, he would sing and make jokes to make her smile. I stared at my empty fridge and a over selling sense of loniness passed over me. It was Saturday for god sakes I'm nineteen I should be hanging out with someone. School wasn't a problem that restricted my social life, since I don't plan to go to collage. I felt like something was missing. My phone rang.

"Beth, hey you should come over." It was my friend Marisa.

"Why."

"You have been quite secluded since Hillel" I could hear her start to fade at the end of the sentence.

It's true I had drifted off, he was a sweet guy. I had just gotten him out of my head. I remembered what was missing.

"OK yeah I have, its just... Its not the same everyone is so depressed, I'm depressed."

"That's why you should come over to my place, its me, Anthony, Flea, and a couple of other guys. I think you should met the new guys."

"Ok I will be there soon, I'll see you later."

"Cool I can't wait."

I had put in a Kiss CD and took a shower. I felt like I haven't taken one in years, a few days turned into years in my house. I headed out after getting ready. It had been the first time I saw my friends in a couple months. I didn't bother to knock, since she called me a vampire once for having to be let in a house.

"Hey, what's up?" Marisa said

"The ceiling." I responded

"Smartass!"  Flea yelled from the other room.

"Ok whatever, really how have you been." She had rolled her eyes and gave a blunt laugh.

"I've been better, how are you doing?" I sighed.

"Its been good." She left the room and I found a seat in the hallway.

It was so warm and livley, the opposite of my place which was cold and static. I could hear Flea playing the bass and Anthony singing. I could immediately feel my soul lighten when I heard them. I got up, walked to the living room. There was Anthony, Flea, and two other guys.

"Hey Beth." Anthony jumped up and hugged me and then Flea. "Chad, John, I would like you to met our dear friend Beth." He pointed to both.

"Nice metal cut." I sarcastically said to Chad. Anthony laughed.

"Shut up asshole." Chad had said, slightly pushing Anthony.

Flea looked at me, and patted the seat next to him. I sat down next to Flea and John. Marisa's cat brushed against my legs.

"Hey sweetie." John said picking her up. He sat her down on his lap. I smiled, and thought. 'ok and he's the sensitive one'.

"Beth are you looking at John's junk!?" Anthony yelled. Ah how apporiate Anthony.

"What the fuck dude I was looking at the cat." I couldn't help but blush.

"Its ok if you were." I heard John whisper. I looked over at him and he was as red as I was and smiling too.
