"Damnit, I'm late." I stuffed my phone in my jacket and walked up to the counter.
"Jaehee? Is my coffee almost done?" I asked
"Yes sorry for the wait." She smiled, "the usual."
"Thanks Jaehee, you save lives." I winked and held a thumbs up. She laughed and I left.
I shuffled down the side walk filled with people. It's about 8:30 and my interview is at 8:45.
I continued down the side walk and turned right. I passed the local vet and waved at Yoosung who was talking to a woman in front of the desk.
I looked up at a blinking billboard, and there appeared Zen's face.
He says a few things about some new soda brand but his voice was washed out by the crowd.
I finally made it to the office. I walked in, holding my briefcase closer to my leg.
I walked to the receptionist. "I'm here for the interview." I looked the woman in the eyes.
"Oh yes, right down the hall is the elevator and the interview, I believe, is on the 7th floor."
"Thank you, miss." I attempted to smile but in sure I looked a bit stupid, yet she smiled back anyways.
The hallway to the elevator was quite long and grand. I pressed the gold up button, I stood with my briefcase in both hands in front of me. The elevator bell rang and the doors slid open. At the same time my poker buzzed.
I got onto the elevator and hit a similar button the the one before but it said 7.
I then retrieved my phone from my pocket. A notification was shown:
New tweet from Saeyoung Choi,
Hanging out w/ my little bro.I scrolled and clicked on the pinned picture. Saeyoung was holding up a peace sign while Saeran was on the computer. Then I slid to the right and saeyoung was in the same pose but Saeran looked pissed.
"Idiots." I muttered but I couldn't help but feel happy that the two twins had been reunited.
I checked my page and then clicked off my phone, placing it back in my jacket pocket.
Soon the elevator bell rang again and the doors opened. I was faced by a woman in a purple dress and dark red hair, he sneered at me and got on. She had a bad vibe to her so I quickly got off, maybe it was just me but she seemed almost evil, whatever.
I readjusted my case in my hand and began down the once again small hallway. It took a moment but I realized the woman at the desk forgot to mention the room.
"Great." I said not realizing I had said it out loud.
I quickly covered my mouth and looked around, lucky for me no one was around so I continued down the hall. Every room seemed to occupied because the doors were closed but halfway down the hall I spotted a room with an open door. I approached the door and took a deep breath, I quietly knocked and am older man greeted me.
"Oh hello miss, are you here for the assistant interview?" The man smiled and scooted towards the door, making room so I had a clear path into the room.
"Um, y-yes, thank you sir." I looked back at the man but he just looked at me and wished me luck.
I then sat in an empty chair, placing my case next me my chair on the floor. I fixed my skirt and shirt along with my hair.
8:33, just in time. I pulled my sleeve back over my watch.
Just then a man walked into the room through a different door than I had entered through.
He turned and looked at me. His eyes were a sharp blue, and he had jet black hair.
I quickly stood and bowed,"Hello sir, it's an honor." I then quickly sat again.
He didn't answer but instead sat at the opposing chair to the one I was currently in.
"So your Miss. Kyong." The man asked his voice was so smooth.
"Mh yes sir."
"And your here for the assistant job?" He looked me right in the eyes and my heart almost stopped.
I nodded, he was beautiful but scary.
"How's your work ethic?"
"Pardon?" I asked
"How long does it normally take you to finish a project, and how diligent are you?" He rephrased his question.
"Well depending on the size and importance about a week or so, as for my diligence I like to perfect my work or else it's not done." I quickly answered.
"Okay you got it."
"Excuse me sir?"
"You got the job, good job." He stood up and turned away.
"Um Sir." I stood as well, " Don't you need my paper work and qualifications?"
"From what I see your qualified, you can keep the papers and file them. Your office is two doors down."
"Oh okay." I quickly grabbed my case and wrapped my arms around it.
"You may go."
"But sir what do I do in the mean time?" I turned to face him again, though he was still facing the door.
"Today just get situated, tomorrow there is a meeting, the schedule is in your desk."
"Y-yes sir. Thank you Mr. Han." I bowed once again and he nodded still facing the door. I then scrambled to get out.
Once out of the room I turned left and took only 4 steps before I got to my new office/ home. I had quite a bit of experience in being an assistant and I knew I'd practically be living in Thai cramped room.
The schedule Mr.Han had mentioned was on my desk.
I looked it over.
"So the meeting tomorrow is for..." I squinted at the paper.
"Wine for... cats? What the hell?" I placed my case on the desk and opened it.
I then grabbed out my binder and some pens. I placed them in the corner of my desk. I then grabbed a pillow and placed it inside one of the filing drawers. I had learned from experience that you can stir things in the back of the cabinet and unless you love all the files it's practically hidden.Lastly, I pulled out my mini beckoning cat from when I went to Japan with my old boss.
"Home sweet home." I sat in my chair and closed my eyes.
