Thanks for Saving Me! (King x Diane) Seven Deadly Sins Fan Fiction

It was a surprisingly sunny day in the kingdom of Liones. The great battle of all ages had just taken place. Lord Hendrickson had been defeated, Hawk had somehow come back from the dead, Guila was now living with... GOWTHER?! But in the end, King was the only one that still wasn't satisfied. He had protected Diane in the battle earlier on from Helbram, but she still didn't seem to notice him and he didn't have the guts to admit his feelings for Diane. King consulted with his dog Oslo, but even he didn't seem to help very much. King just sat on top of Chastiefol going over the events of the day. He had to kill his friend twice in one day. Then again it WAS to save Diane. A giantess he cared about very dearly. 

"Hey King." Diane said behind King, startling him and causing him to fall of his weapon with a crash. Diane giggled a bit. King gawked at her. She was now somehow human sized. She twirled her hair around in her fingers like usual. King nervously smiled at her.

"H H Hi Diane. How are you? You l l look a little d different." King stuttered looking at anything but her eyes. He knew he would break if he did. He could be a real chicken sometimes and he knew it. 

"I know right?! Merlin shrunk me so my clothes could be repaired. They were damaged in the battle you know." Diane said laughing in embarrassment. King started to blush... so did Diane. Diane started looking at her surroundings and she dug her toe into the ground continuing to twirl her hair. King looked down towards the town noticing that a party was being arranged in their honor. King suddenly had an idea.

"What if I ask her to go to the party with ME? This is my opportunity!" King thought excitedly. He turned towards Diane, and he started getting nervous again. 

"You see that party down there King? It's for us the Seven Deadly Sins! Except Escanor. Wonder where he is." Diane thought before she shook her head. 

"Yeah. that's really nice of them. I wonder if the others have girlfriends and boyfriends to celebrate with." King said nonchalantly. Diane picked up on this and blushed.

"You should ask Meliodas if he wants to go with you." King said looking down at the town.

"Damn it what an idiot I am! I should've asked her damn it!" King thought to himself angrily. Diane looked at King.

"Actually, I was wondering if YOU wanted to go... with me." Diane said rather shyly. King was shocked. He quickly turned his head and looked at Diane.

"Y Y You wanna go w w with me?" King asked not believing what he was hearing! She nodded her head.

"Well of course silly. Captain has Elizabeth and you've earned it. You saved my life you know." Diane said walking up to him and embracing him in a hug and a small kiss on the cheek. Diane left with a blush spreading across her face. That was nothing compared to the blush on King's face. He was also bleeding out of his nose. Tonight he would be picking her up for a date!

Later that night, King floated to the Boar Hat to come and pick Diane up. The male sin members had a small get together before their dates. Meliodas was taking Elizabeth, Gowther was taking Guila, and now King was taking Diane. Merlin was also coming with Arthur. King couldn't believe that this night had come. Neither could any of the other sins who didn't believe that Diane was physically capable of leaving Meliodas alone for even ONE day. King walked into the Boar Hat to find Diane wearing the pink dress with black vertical stripes. King wiped blood off his face again. He walked over to Diane and followed the others example of taking their girl's hand and walking her to the door. King blushing as he did this. Diane caught on with his nervousness and gave him a look that said "you don't have to hold my hand." King gave her a reassuring look in return that said, "I'm no coward." The pair walked down the party and received handshakes and "thank yous" from many of the people at the party. King and Diane got embarrassed when they were at one point mistaken as a couple. King a little more than Diane but they were both embarrassed all the same. Eventually, the pair decided to sit down in a restaurant and have dinner to close their night off. The waiter came over to their table and smiled politely.

"What can I get you two lovebirds this evening?" the waiter asked with a pen and paper in his hand. King and Diane both flushed like crazy. 

"W W W We're not a couple. We're j j just friends. I would like roasted ham please. On a spit." King said nervously looking anywhere but at Diane. 

"I I I'll have that as well please sir." Diane said stuttering as well when she spoke. King was surprised, he hadn't heard her stutter before. She always seemed so confident. On this night however, she seemed to melt like a marshmallow. The two sat there and went over the events of the day. 

"How come you decided to put your life at risk for mine King?" she asked sweetly. King hesitated before answering this. 

"I I I hadn't really thought about it. We're friends and no one else had the... balls to do it I guess. Besides Helbram was my best friend in once a long time ago. I needed to do it." King said calmly. the thought of Helbram made him tear up a bit. he had to kill him TWICE today.

"King your crying! It's okay! I'm sorry. I didn't know he was your friend." Diane said a little freaked by King's sudden sadness. King didn't realize he was crying. 

"WHAT! I'm not crying. You must be thinking of someone else." King thought getting embarrassed. People started to look in their direction. Diane could tell he was upset.

"I I need to use the bathroom. I'll be right back okay?" King asked with a reassuring look on his face. She nodded her head with a nervous look on her face. King raced to the bathroom and bawled at the sink. He eventually stopped and washed his face and wiped it with a paper towel. He got back to find Diane there no longer nervous. She looked ready to leave. The two left the restaurant and started to silently walk back to the Boar Hat. When they reached there Diane started to talk to Meliodas again. King sighed and floated outside. 

"I blew it tonight. Why did I have to cry in front of her?" King thought to himself getting more angry every second he thought about it. He felt a hand on his shoulder. A BIG one. He looked up to see Diane was now her normal size again. She sat down next to him and picked him up. She brought him close to her face and kissed him! King was stunned! 

"W w w what was that for Diane?" King said flushing and bleeding. She smiled. 

"I know that Meliodas is taken. And you need someone to comfort you. So I thought why does this have to be only one night? So what do you say. Will you love me forever King?" she asked nervously. 

"Absolutely Diane." King said smiling. Diane curled up onto the ground with King and the two drifted off to sleep in one another's embrace....
