I'm Caroline, and I was very rich. I still am, but let's tell this story in past tense, OK? Anyway, I was very rich. I lived with my very best friend, Crystal! My Mum was mean, she never got married, and everyone else is mean. I have no sisters or brothers or cousins, so I just have Crystal. We live in a BIG mansion. Nobody else wanted it. (To be honest, my whole family wanted to live in it too, but you wouldn't catch me being nice to all of them when they were anything but kind to me! I had sprouts for dinner, and slept in a wooden, green bed! They whipped me, shouted at me, they didn't let me flush the loo!) So me and Crystal lived in our 'happily ever after' home by ourselves. Here's my story.
I did home schooling with this teacher in her house, and she was nice, but she didn't do home schooling for long. (But nobody knew. DON'T tell anyone! We'll both be put in prison! And the stripes would not suit my look!) After home schooling for a year, I started on that harsh life I was telling you about earlier, in a bungalow, in the country, with horse poo! When I was 15, I said "I can't take this anymore! My house is tiny, my tummy's empty, my garden smells!" And Mum said "It's not your house or your garden, it's our house and garden!" And I said "It's not ours, it's yours!" She was confused, and I ran to my room. (It was mine this time!" I sat on my wooden green bed and thought. Should I run away or stay under my bed forever?
The choice was simple. so, when I'd packed a suitcase and everyone's purses were mine, I went away to find Crystal. She'd ran away, too. When we found out we had only £1249, we decided to get that crumbling, mouldy mansion across the field. It cost exactly £1000! But we sorted it out. First, we got our teachers to come. They'd been builders! First, we fixed all of the holy roofs. Then, we replaced all of the broken windows. Then, we painted all of the outside walls white and the roofs were pink. Light pink. Then, we went into the huge garden and pulled out the huge weeds and chopped down the withering trees. Then we fixed it up inside. We cleaned the floors, mended holes, dusted walls, cleaned stairs and windows, polished and dusted and cleaned and mopped and lifted and threw out and replaced. Then we found this chest of drawers and it was full of £50 notes! We ended up having £50249! (What? The chest reached up to the ceiling!) Soon, we had a huge, girly mansion full of electronics and new things. The company begged for more money, or the house, but we just gave them £10. (They asked for more money! They didn't specify how much!) The teachers said goodbye, and we lived in peace and harmony. Now, here's what happened in our new home...
