Harry'sPOV

I never thought I would ever be a slave. My parents seemed to have so much money 9 years ago. Then, my dad died, my mom left, and I was put into an orphanage. I didn't have enough money saved up to go to any university, nor did I have high enough grades to get a scholarship, so I was sold as a slave.

I have been through many families. But none of them treated me as well as the Reese family does. Or, as well as Jace does.

Jace doesn't want any of this. I can see it in her eyes. She probably hates it just as much as I hate it.

"Harry!!" Ana yells from the second floor of the mansion.

"Yes, Ana?" I answer. Jace bounds down the stairs, grabbing a soda from the fridge.

"Could you bring me some tomato soup?? My throat is hurting." Jace rolled her eyes.

"Of course." I shouted back.

"You don't have to listen to her." Jace said, staring me down as I pulled open the lid to the can.

"Yeah, I do. She's my boss." I said.

"So am I." She stated, easily.

"I have to bring this to her." I ran up the stairs holding it close to myself.

"It's at your door, Ana."

"Thank you, Harry." I heard from the otherside, as I put down the ceramic bowl.

"Harry!!" I heard Jace. I sprinted down the stairs, barely landing on my feet.

"Jace, what's wrong?" I skidded to a stop where another girl stood, her eyes transfixed on me.

"Nothing's wrong. I just wanted you to meet my best friend, Brayden." Her short blonde hair was in a bun and she looked like she belonged in this mansion more than Jace did. She wore a short, blue dress, sparkly high heels, and her nails were perfectly french tipped.

"Hi." She said, holding out her hand.

"You must be Harry." I shook her hand, looking at Jace.

"Nice to meet you, Brayden." She flashed a bleached white smile at me before turning back to Jace.

"Jace, come on. We're going to be late for Louis's party!" Jace groaned.

"Bray, I told you I don't wanna go to Louis's party! It's just full of drunk guys trying to get into your pants and desperate girls. No thanks." I laughed slightly and she smiled.

"Are you sure? Louis really wants to see you." She wiggled her eyebrows.

"I'm positive. Tell him I'm sick." Brayden sighed.

"Okay. I'll see you later, Jace. Great meeting you Harry!" She called as she made her way to her blue Ferrari.

Jace closed the door.

"Who's Louis?" I asked her, walking by her side towards the kitchen.

"He's just some guy I knew in high school who has the biggest crush on me. Brayden think's he's the hottest guy and he just annoys me." She laughed.

"Oh." I smiled, keeping my eyes locked on her. When she realized I was staring at her she smiled.

"What?" She asked, laughing.

"What??"

"Why are you staring at me?" She played with her hair.

"No reason." She scoffed.

"Come on! Tell me!" She pleaded. I looked down, a smile etched on my face.

"You just have a pretty laugh." I said, shoving my hands in my pockets. She blushed.

"Thanks." She said, quietly. Her smile stayed on her face. Her phone buzzed and she took it out, reading the text.

Jacelyn's POV

"You just have a pretty laugh." He said.

I could hear my heart flutter at his words. I blushed, slightly.

"Thanks." I said quietly, still smiling.

"Speak of the devil." I mumbled.

"Who is it?" Harry asked.

"Louis." I said, disgusted.

"What'd he say?"

I showed him the text.

Hey, babe. Brayden told me you were sick. Maybe I could come over and take care of you?? ;)

-Louis

 Harry didn't look amused.
