Bruno and Charlotte returned to the hotel room after their afternoon at the park. Kim had been folding laundry on the bed and the boys were taking a nap.
"Start packing," Bruno told Charlotte. "We're getting back on the bus tonight."
"Okay," Charlotte replied.
Bruno continued to watch Charlotte until she closed the door behind her. He sat down on their bed to relieve the pain in his feet from walking so much.
"Have a good afternoon?" Kim asked with a smile. "You look happy."
"Yeah," Bruno grinned. "It was a good day."
"What did she want to talk about?"
"College...and how she wants to be a vet."
"College? Already?" Kim gasped. "Wow she's really somethin'."
"She is," Bruno replied. "I'm so proud of her. How was your day?"
"Let's just say thank God for naps," Kim said, sighing and watching the boys sleeping in the bed beside them.
Bruno wrapped his arm around her, cuddling close. "I'll take them out tomorrow, once we get to the next city. You can stay with the girls...or I'll take all of the kids...whatever you want."
Kim pouted. "Bruno that's not how it's supposed to work."
"What do you mean?"
"I thought we'd be able to do a little bit of family time every day. I didn't realize you'd be working so much before the show."
"Jeez," Bruno said quietly. "Well...I don't know what to tell you. That's how it is...I'm sorry that you didn't realize. I'm gonna try as hard as I can though...because we can make a lot out of touring...and it'll be good for you...and the kids."
"I hope you're right," Kim said.
Later that night, Bruno sat on the edge of Charlotte's bunk, singing all of the kids to sleep. The boys had already fallen asleep. Bruno looked across to the other side to see Madison fast asleep. Charlotte turned off the light above her head.
"Not gonna read?" Bruno whispered.
"No," she whispered back. "I'm too tired."
"Me too. Night," Bruno said, starting to stand.
"Wait," Charlotte whispered harshly, grabbing his arm and pulling him back down.
"What?" Bruno asked.
"If Kim doesn't want to do the tour anymore...does that mean that we can't come anymore either?"
"Charlotte we can talk about that later, okay? Nothing is changing any time soon."
"Okay...it's just...I really like this...and I had a really good time with you today."
"Awww..." Bruno said, bending down to kiss her forehead. "You're so sweet. I had a good time with you too. I love you."
"I love you too."
Toward the end of the tour, there was a stop in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The kids were all very excited to go on the tour of the chocolate factory and the amusement park. Bruno helped the boys get ready as Madison and Charlotte got ready in the other hotel room as usual. Kim stepped out of the bathroom, with a look of confusion.
"What?" Bruno asked.
"We're going soon?"
"Well yeah," Bruno replied, "as soon as everyone's ready. Why?"
