Here's a long chapter as an apology for not updating in a year lol.

CJ was nervous.

After deciding to fake date, they
agreed that it would only make sense for their parents to believe they were an item as well.

So Crispo was coming over in 15 minutes to take pictures for the dance with her. And she was freaking out.

Was the black dress she had picked out too short? Was it too tight? Was straightening her hair a good idea? Did it look stupid? Was her makeup too dark?

She could barely even glance in the mirror without a million questions popping up in her brain.

"CJ!" her mom called from downstairs, "Crispo's here!"

She looked in the mirror one last time before taking a deep breath.

"Crispo! You look so handsome," CJ's mom gushed as CJ slowly made her way down the stairs.

"Thank you, Mrs. Mart-" Crispo's reply was cut short when he noticed CJ.

"CJ, wow, I...you..you look-" he stuttered, staring at her in awe, "you look amazing."

CJ blushed, "thanks, so do you."

"Both of you look wonderful!" Mrs. Martin exclaimed, "now come on! Let's take these pictures so you can get to the dance!"

She led them to the front porch where Ronbie and CJ's dad were waiting for them.

"I'm surprised it took you two so long to get together," Mr. Martin admitted as they were taking pictures.

"Daaad," CJ groaned in embarrassment.

"What?" he replied, "I mean, we all figured it was going to happen eventually. I honestly thought it would've happened a long time ago."

"Woah, look at the time! We're gonna be late!" Crispo interrupted.

"Would you look at that!" CJ said, catching on, "Ronbie, let's go. You're driving us. Bye mom, bye dad!"

"Bye honey! Have fun! Be home by 11!" her mom shouted as they hurried into the car.

"Thank god that's over," CJ said.

"That was painful," Crispo agreed.

Ronbie laughed, "welcome to the world of dating. Want my advice? Parents ruin everything so do not, under any circumstances, let them get involved in your relationship."

CJ rolled her eyes. "Thanks, Ronbie. Will do."

Finally, they pulled up to the school. CJ hopped out of the car.

"Wait," Ronbie said before Crispo could get out of the car, "I just wanted to talk to you really quickly."

"Okay... about what?" Crispo asked slowly.

"I've known you since you were 5 and I know you're a good kid with good intentions, but if you cause my little sister any type of pain, all my trust in you will go out the door and I'll mess you up real good," Ronbie told him.

"Don't worry, I will never hurt CJ. And if I ever do, you won't have to hurt me because I'll already be in pain for hurting her. She means so much to me...I-I love her," Crispo replied.

Ronbie grinned and patted him on the back, "that's what I wanted to hear! Now, get out there and give my sister the best night of her life!"

"What was that about?" CJ asked him when he finally got out of the car.

"Don't worry about it. It was nothing," Crispo said, offered her his arm, "Shall we go have some fun?"

"We shall," CJ giggled, taking his arm.
