"What's wrong?," says Andre, my brother and the best man, to Trevor walking towards a nearby bench. "Dada," Kareem points. Carefully I squat down to pick him up,"Yeah, it's Dada let's go so he can talk to the Groom." We walk by the shore till we spot a bench to sit on. On the bench I ask Kareem simple questions about him like, "What's your name?", "How old are you?", and the colors around us. For every correct answer I give him a goldfish. "Look, it's Mommy calling," I say accepting Destiny's face time request."So how's my baby?,"Destiny wanted to know. I hand Kareem my phone after telling her to ask him herself. After her and Kareem babbling back and forth through my phone i decide to cut it off. " So why aren't you guys in the wedding chapel." she inquires. "Because someone didn't say I do." I watch her eyes widen, "Whoa bet no one expected that coming." I nod and we say our goodbyes and see you soons.
I tickle Kareem and take photos of him to pass time. He ends up passing out on my lap before Andre arrives with Trevor trailing behind. " Found you", Andre whispers flopping next to Kareem's feet," I thought you left." I simile," your my only way home so I couldn't leave." "Hang on tight we're leaving in about thirty more minutes,"I sigh and roll my eyes. Andre gets up and tells me not to whine. Without another word he picks up Kareem and tells me he'll call when it's time to leave. Reaching in my bag I shuffle through my bag looking for my headphones. "OH Shhhhittt," I curse under my breath giving up. I calm myself and stare at the beautiful sunset until the moment is abruptly ruined. The figure next to me utters their first words to me in years "It's true some things about people never change." I open my mouth to reply that my feelings haven't changed also but decide it wasn't right. "Guess what,"Trevor says causing me to bring my eyes to his face. Slowly taking in his familiar beautiful face I respond,"what." He sets his golden eyes on my face and similes,"this wedding felt so wrong and fake because I knew that I was missing a part of me." He pauses and locks his eyes on mine without hesitation he intertwines our hands together, "I thought I lost that half but I know I just found her." Gracefully he leans in sealing our lips together as the memories flood back...................
