What it felt like minutes of sleeping, Darren was disturbed by the incessant noises coming from the bushes. He quickly put up his senses that it could be the hunters looking for him. Feeling groggy from his peaceful slumber, he quickly unslung his bow and pull on the arrow from his quiver as he stood up, putting up a stand.
Another noise came from the bushes, he nocked up an arrow on his bow and pull it back, aiming the bushes. He might be lucky if it is just a scout, that way he doesn't have to fight much. He could just paralyze him and make a quick getaway.
The noise gets louder as Darren gets more sweats on his body. The adrenaline pumped into his body as the noise seems to get nearer. All of the sudden a wolf jumped in front of him, tackling him to the ground. Darren wasn't expecting the wolf tackled in lightning speed. The wolf pinned him down to the ground as he holds the arrow in his mouth. Darren noticed that the wolf doesn't belong to one of the guards seeing that this wolf was silver and the wolves that the guard uses was either black or gray in color.
Darren felt relieved and terrified at the same time, relieved that the guards didn't found him and terrified that a wild wolf was about to mold his face off. The wolf stared into Darren's eyes as it was about to take his life. But surprisingly the wolf only licked him on the face.
Darren was dumbstruck and confused to as why the wolf licked him. "Aren't you too young to be summoning creatures like me" the wolf spoke as he got off Darren and licked his silver fur. Again Darren was dumbstruck. A wolf that could talk, that is something you don't see or hear every day.
"Y...yo..you can ta...talk?" Darren stuttered in confusion as the wolf gave him the look that shows it is not obvious. "What kind of summoner are you? You summoned me but don't know I can talk? like I said. Too young to be a summoner" the wolf growled at him and came closer.
Instinctually Darren backs himself until he hit a tree. He could try to fight but that is a stupid thing to do considering that a wolf could maul him into pieces. The wolf barks and Darren shielded his face and hoped he would survive the attack.
But the attack never came but only the wolf was super close. "Tell me, who taught you how to summon creatures, surely only someone experience can only summon creatures and even strong and powerful summoner couldn't summon an elemental wolf such as me." The wolf said with a following low growl, indicating he was mad towards Darren.
"I have nothing to do with this, I don't even know what a summoner is, I swear" Darren spoke as fast as he could so the wolf would not maul his face off.
The wolf then barks louder causing his ear to ring, surely that is one powerful bark.
"One more bark like that could instantly kill you boy, I do not like liars. Now tell me again how the days did you summon me, from a scroll or what. I can sniff out lies boy" the Wolf says in a deadly manner and shows that his threats are real.
" I swear, I don't know. I never even heard of a summoner before, much than a mythical creature such as yourself, sniff me all you want, I'm telling the truth." Darren says in fear but tries to tell the wolf that he might get the wrong guy.
The wolf sniffs him and instantly back away. "Clearly you didn't lie about knowing about summoner but one thing I knew that you have summoned me and you are my master, even though you're still a minor. Forgive me master." the wolf says as he bowed down his head in shame that he had attacked his own master.
"It's okay, I forgave you and call me Darren," Darren says as he sighs in relieved.
"But if you knew I was your master and I summon you which I didn't know by the way, why did you attack me?" Darren asks in curiosity and tries to recall how the days did he summon a wolf. He didn't know that was even possible.
