Only You

Chapter 8

IU's POV

My first thought after we went down was, He's warm. My second though was, He's gonna crush me to death. My third thought was, Omo, is he gonna kiss me?

Then he actually kissed me, and I didn't know what to do. My whole body seized up in this uncomfortable situation. It suddenly occurred to me that I had a nearly unfamiliar boy in my room, and he was kissing me. Nah. Just no.

Making a slight sound of protest, I tried to push him away. His embrace tightened and-

Thump. Something dropped to the floor and we broke apart. I turned my head to see Suzy in the doorway, the book she dropped from shock open to a random page,

"Uuemmaah, I'll be downstairs. Bai." She gave me the 'you'll-tell-me-everything-and-I-mean-everything-later' look, scooped up the book, then walked out of our sight as fast as she could. No doubt she cracked up as soon as she was out of earshot.

So fast as if I had something contagious (I'm perfectly healthy, okay?), Taehyung got off of me and stood up, nervously running a hand through his hair and staring at his feet.

I slowly sat up, biding my time and trying to ward off the awkward tension that I knew would soon fill the gap between us. I winced as I finally sat up, my whole body tingling and aching slightly from the fall.

I cleared my throat and prepared to say something.

"I'm really sorry." He said quietly, his eyes screwed shut and his head down. His hands were slowly tightening on the material of his pants. "I'm really really sorry, but don't expect you to forgive me."

Taken aback by the sudden formal apology, I sat there stunned. But watching him, he looked so much like a little kid expecting to be scolded, unable to meet my gaze, I couldn't help but start laughing.

I just experienced my first kiss, and got the breath knocked out of me. You can't expect a girl to react normally to anything after that. Also, he just seemed so sincere that I couldn't help but forgive him.

"It's fine. Just catch me next time I fall, okay? Because I'm supposed to be the clumsy one." I said, smiling.

He looked up, obviously surprised to be forgiven so easily. "I-I did that without your permission...and you're not mad at me?"

I walked over to him and placed a sisterly peck on his cheek. "And I did that without your permission too. Now we're even." I said, still grinning. 

He laughed softly, covering the place I kissed with one hand. 

"Alright. Deal. I'll catch you next time you fall."

Suzy's POV

Oh, maigawd. Unless I'm blind, I'm pretty sure that was V. I thought while laughing as softly as I could. Aigoo. That Jieun sure has been busy, even getting V to fall for her. That's my girl, I thought. Talented, reliable, and undeniably awesome.

I replayed my own day and started laughing even more hysterically despite myself. Jimin and Jin were in my class! They're soooo hot, I daydreamed as I floated down the stairs. I wonder what Jimin's favorite color and food are? I could follow him to his wherever he lives and....

Whoa. Sasaeng much? I'm not gonna be a creepy perverted stalker. The thought had some appeal, though.

Suddenly, I heard Taehyung's voice from upstairs. Uh oh. Here comes the awkward part. I stuffed my earbuds into my ears and blasted Boy In Luv by BTS so to give IU some privacy. She'll tell me everything later anyway, and plus, I really hate awkward moments.

After a few minutes, Jieun and V came down the stairs, laughing and joking again. Whaaaat. They aren't together, right? 'Cause not even V deserves my sweet IU. 

"See you later, Suzy!" IU called from the entrance hallway. They went out the door, and I took out my earbuds. I could still hear them chatting outside, their voices gradually fading as they walked farther away. 

I paused my music and stared after them. That girl has a lot of beans to spill. I've been gone to America for waaaay too long.
