Sophia's POV

Ryan, Blake, and I were in the cafeteria after school. We were goofing off, skipping detention. When Blake said, "Yo Ryan, I dare you to do a back flip of the table". Ryan answered, " Na, man. I have to many things to live for. And that is gonna kill me!" "Like what, your little girl crush on little miss goodie, goodie over here." Smeared Blake .When all of a sudden we heard a teacher yelling our names. So we ran, but the sound of the yelling didn't fade as we ran down the hallway. It had gotten louder. I felt someone shake my arm. Thinking it was one of the guys I turned around to find that I wasn't with the guys. In fact I wasn't even at the school. I was at my best friend Ashley's house. The shaking and yelling was still apparent, and so was the shaking. This time I could hear my mother instead. She was telling me to get up.

I soon found myself awakening from a deep slumber. "Mom, what do you want it's 3:00 in the morning." I mumbled to my distressed mother. " Honey, get up there are zombies everywhere. We have to go get to safety fast!" And just then I had seen the most horrific thing a child could ever experience. Their own mothers death. My mother had been bitten by a zombie which is now feet from my bedside. Not knowing what to do I grabbed a decoration of my  bedside christmas tree and used it to stab the zombie.

I ran to my bathroom. Inside I had locked it from the inside. And grabbed my phone which was charging in there. I quickly tested my best friend Ashley. " R U OK, IS EVERYONE SAFE". She responded with the most heart wrenching response any friend wouldn't want to hear. She said "sadly, no I can't say everyone one is ok and I know I won't make it to the morning. But you need to go to Ryan's house right now." Ryan is Ashley's step brother. What I said next is something I never wanted to say again. "I love you girlfriend, and no matter what happens you always will be my best friend." She never responded after that. I sat on the bathroom floor crying for what felt like forever. The pink paint in the bathroom matched my bedroom walls. I remember my mom had insisted on getting this color. She said " It complements my personality!" I laughed at the thought. And the long hours of peeling off the wallpaper, then painting made me cry. I will never again share a moment like that with my parents ever again. My mother is now murdered by a zombie, and I have no idea what happened to my father but I can take a pretty good guess.

I soon pull myself together and get ready to go run to Ryan's house. He didn't live that far. I mean like turned the corner on the right of my house and take a left, then just go straight till you see the red mailbox.

I exit the bathroom. Looking around I find that the house seems quite. Like nothing is wrong. I look into the hallway to find not a thing is in there. I make my way down the stairs, and again find nothing. "Jeez, how long was I in the bathroom." I say to my self in a whisper tone. I make my way to the kitchen, nobody in here. So I think of a last minute plan on how to get to his house quickly and safely. I choose to find my mom's car keys. And being only thirteen I was taking a risk. But I get into her car, start it and put it into reverse. I press on the gas. Flying backwards I press on the brake so I can switch it to drive. As I do so there is a zombie on the side of the car. I sped off down the road. I make the turn, and press the gas. I make it to Ryan's house in ease. Then I run up to his door...
