Once upon a time? No, this isn't a fairytale. Well at least not one you would read to your kids when you tucked them in at night. It's definitely not one of those stories. Not since the darkness took over. They used to say there's no such thing as monsters under your bed. Well there are now. Now that the darkness has taken over. There's no such things as sweet dreams anymore. Only the nightmares we live everyday when our eyes are open. Since the darkness took over.
I'm guessing your wondering what this darkness is? It's black. No light. Just black. Everywhere. There's no person in charge anymore. There is no more presidents, prime ministers or royalty. There is you. You against the world. But what do you do? What do you do when the people you thought would always be there for you aren't there? What do you do when your family who are supposed to stand by your side forever aren't standing? What do you do when the people that always instructed you and told you what to do are no longer giving instructions? What do you do when there's you? Just you? Standing on your own with no one by your side to help you? Just you alone? What do you do then?
Well that's my life every single day since the darkness took over. Since there has been no ray of sunlight to be seen in days. Weeks. Months. The darkness. The pitch black darkness is all we see now. Day or night. But why? Nobody knows. And nobody dares to find out. Lock your doors. Border up your windows. Cherish any source of food or water that you have left. Look after it as it is your ticket to your survival, because if you lose them your basically signing your death note. there is no more. The supermarket's have been raided and turned into broken pieces of glass and ruble. Houses broken into. Cars crashed. Roads smashed. Any sign of human life vanished. But there's still humans. Alot. Alot of other people to protect yourself from. friends trying to kill you. Family trying to steal from you. All because they want what you have. Food. Water. Tickets to survival....Things that everybody else not only wants...But needs.
But that's all part of the game. You want to win. You have to win. It's a game were if you lose you die. We're there's a counter for every person. A dice for every turn. A space for every move you make. Will it be the right move? That's a risk you have to take because guess what? It's all part of the game. What's the game called? Life. It's just your everyday life but scarier. More dangerous. You don't have parents to tuck you into bed while reading you a story. You have monsters. You don't have sweet dreams. You have nightmares. You don't have a freshly cooked meal. you have whatever you can find. You don't have a warm bright fire. You have darkness. Cold, bitter, darkness. And guess what? It's all yours. Things will never be the same. But then again it's all part of the game. Isn't it?
Imagine waking up hopeing that all of this was just a terrible nightmare only to realise your living in your very own horror story. Well that's my life. That's what I think every morning when I get out of my bed and step onto the frozen wooden floor. When I walk outside hopeing to see a rising sun but all I see is street lights. When I look for my breakfast only to find empty cans. When I wish and hope for life to go back to when the sun rose. Night ended. School started. People smiled. Only to be reminded that it will never happen.
I wish to go back to a time when I was happy. To When birds sang and family was forever. I would do anything to be happy again.I stepped outside, No form of life to be seen, but you know its there. You know your not alone..
