I rolled over from another sleepless night at my best friends house. I took a sip of the water sitting on my best friend's nightstand. I got up from the warmth of her bed and shivered as my toes touched the hard wood floor in her bedroom. I walked down the stairs awkwardly so that I didn't make a sound. I practically ran to the bathroom once my feet touched the cold tile. I ran straight into the bathroom without even looking around. I sat on the toilet seat before turning my attention to the sound I heard outside the door.
Knock, knock, knock
The door was being hit repeatedly and I couldn't help but open it and look at the wondrous sight before me. I tilted my glasses upward to the bridge of my nose to see the full beauty of his face. There he stood at 6'2 with me only at 5'4, the love of my life. "S-s-sorry," I empathised. He must have noticed my stuttering because he looked at me a little funny. His hazel eyes staring down at me.
"That's quite alright" he told me. I felt so vulnerable under his gaze. I felt like although I hadn't socialised with him much over the years that he saw something in my glass covered eyes. I couldn't help it when my knees started to weaken as he gave me a smile. Not his regular smirk but an actual smile. I went to walk away when I felt his gaze burning through my back.
When I reached the bottom step I weakly fell as I felt my knees weaken clumsily. Kiren came to help me up but when he touched Me my skin burned with fire from his light touch. My face turned a slight shade of red as blood rushed up to my face, a little from excitement and a little from embarrassment. When I got up from the ground Kiren asked "Are you ok?" I just replied with a slight nod.
"Thanks for helping me," I said with red cheeks.
"That's no problem hunny, no problem at all," he said while gazing me up and down. When he called me 'hunny' I felt more blood rush to my cheeks and I tried to run up the stairs but before I could he grabbed my wrist and I turned around quickly. I came down here to pee not he have a full blown conversation with the love of my life that was way out of my league.
"Are you sure you don't need me to accompany you up the rest of the stairs, Aria?" I was surprised when he called me by my name. I didn't think that he knew it because every time that we spoke he just called me Maddie's friend and I was caught a little off guard. I was surprised when she even paid attention to me I the third grade class. She seemed like the type that would grade you before speaking to you but she wasn't like that at all.
"I think I'm fine now," I finally replied after staring at him for a while. I then ran up the stairs with not the slightest hesitation.
Before I got to Maddie's room I could faintly hear a, "goodnight" coming from down the stairs. As soon as I got upstairs I laid back in bed and immediately fell asleep.
