"Taryn! Come here for a second, please?" Jason yells from across the courtyard. I run over, headphone in one ear and phone in my pocket. "There's my little soccer star," he wraps his arm around my shoulder after his, overly excited, introduction. Alicia, the head-cheerleader, rolls her eyes at us, well me. Jason looks down at her, there's something in his eyes. She looks back at him with lust filling her eyes. I look back up at him, he's returning her lust. 'Is he cheating on me?' I wonder. It's not like it matters, I knew he would the second he found out I wanted to stay pure until marriage. Most guys will cheat on you at that point. "Hey, I'm gonna head home. I have a bit homework, and I need a shower," I smile, hiding everything that's going through my head. "You sure do. I could smell you from across the courtyard," Alicia mumbles. "You ridiculous little-" I stop myself. "I like your after-practice smell," I, fake, smile up at him and unlace his arm from my shoulder.
I start to walk away. "I'll see you later!" He yells after me. I nod and run to the street. I put my other headphone in and turn the volume all the way up. Midnight Red blasts from my ears on my entire journey home. I really should've changed out of more than just my cleats. My sweaty shin-guards and socks rub against my skin, as I run home. The sun beats down on me as I chug half of my water bottle. The rest ends up dumped down my back and chest, making my white t-shirt stick to my skin. I'm about a block away from my hosue when I hear a scream. My minds goes right to the worst possible thing, and I bolt down the road. As I draw nearer to my house, I see a group of screaming girls circling around.. In front of my driveway. Now, I live in LA, so this isn't uncommon, but still very annoying.
I walk behind the crowd, trying to figure out who it is. 'Probably just One Direction again,' I joke with myself. "Hey Tear-bear! What's goin' on outside?" My mom asks when I get inside the house. I pull my headphones from my ears. "It's the circle of fans ma! Hide the valuables!" I joke. "Who this time?" She asks, I shrug, :I didn't get a good look. Probably just One Direction again," I say. "Why don't you go get an autograph!?" She jokes. She knows how much I dislike their fans, and them. I give her a kiss on the cheek. "Don't forget that tonight is mother-daughter date-night!" She calls to me as I run up the stairs. Once a month, my mom and I go out to a fancy dinner, then buy ice cream and pig-out watching chick flicks all night. I smile at her, I've looked forward to this Friday all week. I walk into my room and log on to my computer. I lied, I don't have any homework. I log onto Facebook. Hey, sometimes it's fun to watch people drop drama bombs!
I refresh the page a few times before a picture catches my eye. I see someone from school posted a selfie with.. MIDNIGHT RED?! I open my window and look down on the, ever-growing, crowd. Sure enough, in the middle of it all is Thomas, Anthony, Joey, Colton, and Eric. I stand in shock for a few minutes, then my scent reaches my nose. I gag lightly, and decide it's time for a shower. I put my Lana Del Rey CD on full blast through my speakers. Half of my mind does this because I love her, the other half knows that Thomas does too.
I grab my favorite dress from my closet. I walk into the bathroom and turn on the water. I spend a bit longer in the shower than normal. What? I wanted to listen to, and sing, Born To Die. It's my, and Thomas' favorite song, don't judge me. I step out and pull on my dress, jacket, and heels. I blow-dry and curl my hair, then do my make-up. I walk out of my bathroom and turn off my speakers. I walk down into the kitchen. "Hey mom? Where are we going fo-" I stop dead in my tracks. "Holy shit. Midnight Red is in my kitchen," I say, a little louder then I should have. "Taryn! Language! Boys, this is my beautiful, angel-voiced, soccer star, daughter Taryn. She's a big fan of you all, but Thomas is her favorite," she winks at them. "Mom! Really?!" I yell, a blush staining my cheeks. A grin rises on Thomas' face, following my mom's lead. I hang my head. I should've just stayed in the shower.
