"Shit Michael, you're on your own." The familiar voice came over her radio as she effortlessly scaled the inner fence and dropped to the floor.
She was the best in the business, or family as it were, for hunting. Less than three years ago it had become apparent to the rest of the world that Werewolves and Vampires and lots of other creatures that go bump in the night did actually exist. Not surprising considering that those ideas must have came from somewhere and until then humans seemed to be the only being with a high level of intelligence. It seemed it wasn't only monkeys that had evolved but wolves and bats too.
Beca didn't care about this though. She only cared about killing them. It was what she was trained to do and she had no interest in going rouge and getting herself killed anyway. Now, however, she was on her one, like most times, all she had was a radio to say if she was gonna die or not and that was that.
She made her way through the trees and undergrowth without making too much noise. This part of the woods never had anything in it, and that included anything to hunt. On the other hand, this was no usual night. All the clans of wolves would be gathering to kill one of their own, a half fang as they called them. This would be their sacrifice to their so called spirit which would them give them more power. What a load of crap. Beca was planning to kill this 'half fang' and ruin their tradition before running back to civilization where the attacker would get slaughtered by the watching scopes of the rifles.
By the time she got to the ritual all the creatures of the night were already too hyped up to notice her. All their attention was trained onto one girl who was being guided from a small hut. She had her hands tide up and was walking towards the center of the circle with her head down. Her ginger hair covering her face until she was finally tied up to the pole and her face was finally visible. Beca saw harsh tears falling from her beautiful, bright blue eyes and scratch their way down her smooth pale skin.
Before she knew what was going on, everyone around her, ready to pounce. The, a booming, authoritative voice rang out. "Nobody touches my daughter!" The voice exclaimed as a large, burly man stepped out and the creatures bowed down to him. Then, Beca snapped, rushing forwards, grabbing the girl, hoisting her up onto her soldiers and running back the way she came. Back to the fence and easily clearing both boundaries and bullets rang out, piercing through the half formed bodies.
"What the hell?" The ginger asked, watching as body after body hit the ground. She looked away, towards the ground and smiled sadly.
"Are you smiling?" Beca asked, looking at the girls beside her.
"What? They were going to kill me, you're going to ill me. At least a death with would will be quick." Beca looked at her, astonished, before grabbing the girls hand and leading her into the city.
About twenty minutes later and they were at Beca's apartment. "Why am I here, aren't you going to bury me with the rest or you gonna torture me first?"
"Not until you tell me why you were crying and I presume its the same reason why you wanted to die." The girl huffed and lent against the wall, looking up at the small brunette who sat back on the sofa and indicated her to sit next to her.
"Torture it is." She said, moving to sit down. "Basically I'm bored of being expected to kill on command and like it. I'm not sure if you know but the wolves are trying something different where they mate with humans so they are trusted more. These hybrids are then trained to act more like humans and kill them a way a human would while getting the benefits a wolf needs. That way we are less likely to be hunted." Beca nodded and placed a hand on the girls arm. "Any other questions?"
"Whats your name?" Beca almost whispered, the girl looked up at her shocked.
"Uhh...C-Chloe." Beca smiled at her.
"Well I'm Beca and for the record, I get it, you know, the whole shit parents and shit life thing. It was your kind that killed both my parents and turned me into a compulsive killer. You want something to eat?" Chloe looked at her confused. "Come on, half human, surly you wont just throw up if you eat human food. Try it." Beca was now on her feet and ordering a pizza for the two of them.
Half hour later and the pizza was there. Chloe took a slice hesitantly before biting into it, letting out a small moan and she tasted the delicious food in her mouth. Beca giggled at her and watched as she devoured almost all of the pizza. "So you just gonna keep me as some sort of pet and treat me like a human then?" Chloe asked, looking at Beca hatefully.
"No, and I saved you remember so a little respect. Although, your going to live however you want but hurt anyone and I will kill you. I'm also giving you a place to stay as I highly doubt your going to get a job very easily with no qualifications." Chloe just stared at her before pouncing on her, forcing the smaller girl into a hug. To her surprise the brunette hugged back and when they pulled away, their faces were only inches apart.
Beca lent forward again, catching Chloe's lips in hers and kissing her gently. The two stayed like that for over an hour, kissing each other lightly until they stopped kissing and fell asleep in each others arms.
