"Thats right folks..."
An eerie silence fell over the room as everyone's head turned toward the screen of the small TV.
"A charity event has been put together for the young Yuri Katsuki..."
Their attention adverted to the young man that sat in front of the old TV. Everyone know that he would leave the room if he could. Yuri had always hated pity.
"The former Figure skater, Yuri Katsuki was hospitalized after an accident in the grand per-finals. The organizer, who wishes to stay anonymous, wishes to raise money for a treatment that will let Yuri skate once more. The event will be held in a skating rink near Yuri's hometown and Skaters from all over the world will meet there to compete against each other. Help bring this dream into a reality by voting for your favorite figure skaters at this years charity event for Yuri Katsuki. And now for......"
The screen was clicked off. People turned back to their meals and conversations, leaving Yuri alone. His head laid on the wooded table, a tear dripped from his eye. Why couldn't the just leave me alone, He sulked. I already feel miserable without the world knowing.
After the accident in the ice rink, Yuri was unable to move his lower body including his hands. When his head hit the wall, it completely destroyed the normal nerve pathways for most of his muscles. The doctors had said there was little that can be done at that moment.
After he was release from the hospital, people began dropped off gift and giving their condolence. It only made Yuri feel useless. He didn't want pity. He didn't want gifts. He didn't want help. He wanted to be dependent on himself and himself only.
"Yuri, stop mopping around. Cheer up," His mother patted his back. "Someone started a charity for you. You should be overjoyed." Her smile turned into a frown as Yuri looked up at her with puffy sore eyes. "You'll at least go to the event, right? Victor is going to be there, you love Victor."
Yuri stayed quiet, before nodding softly. He leaned back into the wheel chair, sighing.
"Would you like anything to eat, Yuri?" His mother smiled. Yuri shook his head, not answering once more. "Can you at least say something?"
He turned to look the other way. Not wanting to answer. Weeks after arriving home, Yuri became selective mute. He no longer felt the need to speak to the people around him. He began feeling depressed and his old hobbies didn't seem enjoyable. All he felt was emptiness
