CHAPTER 1: ON THE WAY TO THE BEST DAY OF OUR LIVES
“I can’t believe we get to go to a COLDPLAY concert!” I exclaim happily to my twin sister Brooke.
“I know right!” she answers back. We have been dreaming of this day forever. The tickets were our birthday presents from our parents. We got them as an early gift because our birthdays are next week.
“Lizy, I think we should get going. The concert starts in six hours, and we need to check into the hotel and be there in time for meet-and-greet.” Brooke tells me.
“Okay,” I answer.
“MOM, DAD, WE ARE GOING NOW. LOVE YOU!” I yell upstairs to them. They work all the time, and they know we understand that they will not always be there for us.
“OKAY KIDS! HAVE FUN AT YOUR CONCERT! TEXT US BEFORE YOU GO TO BED!” my mom yells down to us.
“WE WILL”
After leaving our neighborhood, since Brooke is driving, I put in my Coldplay CD that I made, and crank it up. Charlie Brown comes on, and Brooke and I look at each other with excited expressions. We start singing and dancing together, as much as you can in a car. Despite being twins, we are like best friends.
I know that I have to Instagram this, so I turn on my phone, and go directly to Insta. The first picture that pops up is from one of my sister’s and my favorite Whovian accounts. It was a picture of the tenth doctor (my sister’s and my favorite) and the caption was “Alons-y”. This pops a thought into my head.
“Brooke,”
“Yes,”
“After this, our next goal needs to be meeting David Tennant.”
“I agree with you one-hundred percent.”
We reach a red-light. “Smile!” I say. I snap the selfie and then we proceed on the way to the concert.
After a while of driving, we finally reach the Hilton Garden inn where we will be staying. After I check in, we ditch our bags in the room, and hurry over to Philips Arena where the meet-and-great and the concert will be taking place.
I know that this will be the best day of our lives.
