"agh fuck off," I mumble reaching to answer my phone, no caller ID? "hello?" I say with a confused voice into the phone.
"is this Lola sandford?"
"uhm yeah, this is..?"
"I've called to inform you the competition you entered to win a day with Shawn Mendes has ended and you're the lucky winner. You will be emailed all the information too the email address you entered with."
I'm pretty sure I can't breathe. I've been silent for about a minute now just gasping and looking into space "Miss are you there?" I hear faintly from the phone I dropped.
"Yes sorry, thank you so much, Bye," I end the phone and let out an ear deafening scream.
"Shannon what's wrong? why did you just scream?!"
"DAD, I WON A COMPETITION TO MEET SHAWN, MOTHER FUCKING MENDES," I yell making his face turned from concerned too ecstatic. "Honey that's so cool, when is it?"
"In two days," In two days I shall be meeting Shawn. What is life? I know it sounds a bit short of notice for them to announce the winner but there was a first winner but her mum said she can't go, she's 12 so has to do what her mum says I guess.
"Wow so soon? I cant take you as I'm off to stay with your Gran as she hasn't been feeling well and you know how she overreacts." I agree and say its fine,he returns downstairs and I think who to go with. I only have one friend who likes Shawn what's my first ever friend Tana. Even though she turned 18 last week her parents still control her and they hate her going to Toronto where I'm meant to be meeting him.
I'm meeting him at 12 till I'm not quite sure when, it wasn't mentioned in the email. Tana and I are going too see him later that day in concert, she's only allowed to come as I said my sister was coming whose 26. Oh well, I can go alone, nothing can get me down, I'm meeting one of my idols. Going alone or not I'm pretty sure its gonna be the best day of my life.
