Hello! This entire story is a collaboration between me and this girl who is my partner in Chemistry class. XD

The sound of the diner filled my ears; all the loud voices of the filling the air.
I squeezed my way through the cramped tables and went to the next person waiting for a waitress.
"Hi! Welcome to Dale's! What would you like today?"
The customer, a white, fat, middle aged man, frowned as he looked at the menu. "I think I'll have a...Supreme deluxe...with...an orange juice please."
"Will do." I replied with a smile. As soon as I turned, I rolled my eyes in annoyance. God, I hated this job. It's not that I hated people in general; I was just NOT a people person. I just wanted to leave this stupid town, and travel the goddamn world, as cheesy as that sounds.
I pinned the order up on the rack, wiping my brow. It was almost closing time.
Almost time for my paycheck.
Amil, the manager, hadn't payed me in two freaking months. Anymore of that, and I would personally shove the cash register down his throat.
Yeah, I was not a people person.

I wiped off the last of the crumbs off the table, pushing them into the dustpan. It was closing time and it was finally time for me to get my paychecks that Amil "forgot" to give me.
I walked over to the counter, leaning over as to grab my purse.
"Hey, shortie."
I spun around, startled, breathing a sigh of relief when I saw that it was just one of the other waitresses at the restaraunt, Diana.
"Hey, Dee. God, you scared me." I said.
She smirked."Who me?" She asked in a southern drawl,"I'm just a young innocent woman, I can't do nothin' to nobody."
"Ha ha,"I said sarcastically. "Off home?" I asked.
She sighed."No, I need to grab a couple things from the market, I'm just waiting for Amil to give me my last two goddamn paychecks," she said rolling her eyes in annoyance.
I swore. "Shit," I clawed my hand through my hair,"he's been doing this to you too?"
It was one thing for Amil to do this to me, it was completely ridiculous that he was doing this to Diana. She actually needed the money.
I just wanted it to get the fuck out of this town.
Diana shrugged. "As long as he eventually gives me the check by the time my rent is due, I don't have too much of a problem with it. I still have enough food and everything, anyway."
Amil suddenly threw open the door of his office, looking bad-tempered.
"AMIL!" I yelled, vaulting over the counter," Ya gonna, finally, give me my checks??"
He barely glanced at me and Diana, clearly eager to head somewhere. "Not today girls, most likely next week."
"Next week!?",I yelled, "Amil you said you were going to give us our checks!!" I was outraged. This bastard thought he could get away with just putting off our money like that!? Oh, hell no.
"Amil, you promised us. I expect you to keep that promise!" I yelled.
He quickly scurried to the door an flipped over the open sign, to close. "Lock up for me, will you?" he said casually, ignoring me.
"AMI-", I was quickly cut off by the shutting of the door, and Amil sped off to wherever he was going.
"GOD DAMMIT!" I yelled, banging my fist on the counter,"THAT'S IT!!"I headed straight for the cash register, and Diana, who was frozen on the floor for that entire incident, immediately unstuck from her spot on the floor, and went right after me.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" she yelled. "Tori, what are you doing!?"
I quickly pulled crumpled twenties out of the slot, rapidly counting it. "Don't worry, I'm only taking what that asshat owes me." I slipped all the cash Amil owed me, in my back pocket. I then started to pull more twenties out of the cash register.
"Then..why are you taking more?"she asked skeptically
I rolled my eyes."Because, idiot," I held the money in front of her,"this is yours."
She looked at the cash fearfully. "Tori, I don't know..."
I forced all the cash into her hand. "Take it. You need it more than I do. Besides, I'm not taking more of that pricks' bullcrap anyway."
Diana cocked her head to the side in confusion. "What do you mean?"
"I mean I'm getting the fuck out of this town."
