"Mornin'"

Glaw sat on the old, long table of the conference room, typing away on a laptop. There were some mechanics laid out along the far wall of the room. "I'll have the digital three-dimensional map projector ready this afternoon, at the latest. If you'd like to gather more information on that one business industry, two of the three surveillance devices are still intact. We also have some spare microphones that would work for audio."

"Actually, we've been trailing the wrong company." I yawned. "We'll leave one of the intact cameras within the facility, I'll bring the other two to you. We'll need those mics for a drop in on one of the company's partnerships. I'll have one of the girls come pick up the electrical supplies later. Keep working on the mapping system for now, make sure you have access to a detailed visual on a hundred mile radius of the coordinates I sent you yesterday. Me and Asaph already worked out the details of travel and infiltration for the next week or so. Keep the files on the company's building layout as reference. I'll be in the woods, Asaph will make breakfast. Focus on your work, there will be no city visits today." Glaw gave a nod at the end of my debrief. I returned the gesture and Glaw continued on with work. Before heading outside, I checked up on Joseph, who was fast asleep. As I opened the side door, Simon ran across the shelf near the door and jumped on my shoulder. I waited for him to settle before continuing on.

My eyes gently closed as I inhaled a generous amount of fresh air. I exhaled slowly, my eyes opening to meet the thick woods ahead of me. Fall leaves crunched under my feet as I took my first few steps away from the warehouse. When the building was just out of view, I stopped. Keeping myself from smirking I spoke in a neutral tone, "You can come out now, Asaph." There was a rustling noise to the right of me as Asaph slid down from a slanted tree onto the brush below. "I honestly don't know why you even bother." I left it at that, not specifying whether I was referring to him sneaking out or trying to hide from me, possibly even surprising me.

"I have to practice my unseen movement." He explained. Sometimes I wonder how he can put feeling into his words even while keeping his voice leveled.

"You only give me practice in seeing through your supposedly unseen movement."

"The day I can get past you undetected is the day I will have truly mastered this skill."

"Unless something unexpected were to happen to me, it seems you'll never master this skill." We laughed.

"You make it sound like you know that the unexpected will happen to you."

"I'm as certain that the unexpected will occur as I am that you will make breakfast morning. The cool part about it is that one of the two has to happen."

"You could've told me that I had to make breakfast before I walked all the way out here." Asaph pretended to complain.

"And you could've actually checked the traps last night so I wouldn't have to right now."

"You would have checked the traps regardless." he lifted a brow.

I let out a small chuckle. "So maybe I would have. But your the best cook out of ask of us and you know it so get to the kitchen. And be sure to make something special for Joseph."

"Aye," he started towards the warehouse. "Be careful," he called before leaving my sight.

After checking the empty traps and gathering some fruit with Simon's help, I returned home.

Once I was near the building, I let the smell guide me, only Asaph could cook in such a way. We I walked in, he was just sitting down to eat, the others already stuffing their faces around the large table. Glaw wasn't at the table, probably eating and working at the same time in the office. Joseph was at an end of the table. The empty seat next to him had a full plate ready. I sat down, Asaph on my right, and started to eat.
