Caffeine Rush

You woke up to the consistent beeping of your alarm, sitting up you rubbed the sleep out of your eyes and looked out the window to the courtyard of Beacon Academy. You had started at Beacon a few short months ago with your best friend Jaune Arc. The two of you made friends as well as enemies and the term was anything but dull. The new semester started a few days ago with a bang in the form of a food fight of epic proportions. Needless to say, getting the watermelon stains out of your uniform was a trial in itself. Classes resumed as well as training in preparation for the upcoming Vytal Festival and Tournament and as you looked away from the window, you saw your teammates preparing to enjoy the day off. Your partner, Carmen the Fox Faunus, was sitting at the girls' vanity brushing her red hair while Daisy the Rabbit Faunus was talking on her Scroll. Meanwhile, Nicholas Frost, the only other human on your team, was sitting on his bed tying his bootlaces and answering a text on his Scroll.

"Ah, the Beast of Beacon has finally awoken." Carmen joked

"Morning everyone." You said back

"Morning (y/n)." Daisy greeted, "If you're not doing anything today, would you like to come with me and meet my friend Velvet and her team?"

"Sure I'm free. What about you guys?"

"Sorry, I'm heading down to the library with Blake to work on Professor Oobleck's assignments and Nick's got another date with Ruby."

"For the last time, we're just going to the arcade that (y/n) and Jaune mentioned." Nick said with a tone of exasperation

"Right, to the arcade...together...on a date." Carmen pointed out

"Anyway..." you chimed in, "Go ahead and wait for me outside Daisy, I'll be down in a few minutes."

    Daisy nodded and headed out the door with the others following suit while you got out of bed and got dressed. You put on your favorite pair of blue jeans followed by a gray undershirt and an (f/c) plaid long-sleeved shirt over that, leaving the buttons undone while you put on your brown boots and met Daisy outside. From what she told you, Velvet and her team have been off in the field on a supervised mission with an Atlesian specialist for the past few days and were just getting back to Beacon today. Arriving at the port in front of the school, you and Daisy sat down on a nearby bench and waited for a few minutes before an airship came into view.

"They're here!" Daisy said as she got up with you soon following behind

When the bay doors on the ship opened up four people stepped out. First came a tall boy in a green robe with probably the biggest sword you had ever seen on his back. The boy behind him had darker skin with copper hair and stark white eyes, and he had scars all over his arms and had what looked like a pair of bladed tonfa strapped to his arms. Behind him was a girl with brown hair and rabbit ears, so you figured out that that was Daisy's friend Velvet and then you saw her. She had a cocoa-brown shirt and dark brown pants with matching leather boots. Her dark-brown hair was wavy on one side with a caramel highlight on the end with a dark brown beret on top and a pair of black aviator sunglasses.

"Wow." You said under your breath as Daisy ran up to Velvet while you trailed behind.

    As Daisy and Velvet gave each other a big hug, you caught everybody's eye as you caught up to the group.

"Who's this Daisy?" Velvet asked

"Oh right! This is (y/n), he's my team's leader and a really cool guy."

"Nice to meet everyone. Daisy's told me and the others a lot about you Velvet." You said with a warm smile

Daisy giggled a little bit as the tall boy in the robe approached to shake your hand.
