I panted as I kept on going, releasing all of the stress that's been piling up inside. My steps and swings were heavy. Considering I was still in my manta costume, just not with the helmet. It was hard, but I put it aside and think of it rather as a challenge to me. The target rocketed back and forth as I played with it. Cracks starting to become visible.
It's time.
I ran and shifted my weight, delivering the final blow. A spiral kick directed straight to the center, penetrating as well as sending the target right off its chains. The sound of the wrecked up wood hitting the floor echoed throughout the silent training room. I looked at the scene and decided to get yet another target.
I approached the supply room and opened the door with no care whatsoever. The rusted metal panel creaked as I did. Dim light illuminated from the corridors as I squinted my eyes to spot any wooden boards around.
There was none left.
I pursed my lips in an angry manner, beads of sweats appearing. I closed the supply door and walked begrudgingly back to the training room to get my water bottle. I sat down and chugged down the refreshing beverage, closing my eyes. I'm upset and I know it.
Putting the cap back on, I stared off to the distance. Sore from the training and tense from the encounter. I clenched my fist at the thought of the boy. There was no way in the world am I going to accept it.
My jaw tensed up every time I recalled his name.
Aqualad,
Or Kaldur'amm
