You arise, glancing around the pale white room that engulfed you in immediate trepidation. Where am I? was the first retaliation you inquired in your evoked mind. After all, you were pretty muddled since you had no idea in hell where you are. Perhaps in some captive sanctuary? My parents are gonna kill me...you thoughts become more haphazard as they race your mind.

You walk to the hollow door that was standing bleakly in the silhouette of the sunken shade from the blue flickering illuminate light that was more intimidating. You turn the knob...that seems to not bother to obey. You had to implement a plan to get yourself out of here. "Theres a window beside me....if only i can-". "Perfect" You said placing a devious smirk as your eye casted upon a thin piece of oak wood that was a durable but weary shelf that held remedies of all kinds. There was also a chipped knife that seemed used for protection. It seemed a bit rusted...why would a nurse be carrying such a dangerous weapon around wings carelessly. You shrugged it off and got to duty, limbering up as you heaved the wood to the small, perplexed window.

The job was a simple endeavor for you as you quickly with temptation, threw the wood through the fragile window which broke immediately because of all the sudden friction. Before intaking the perimeters, you decide to take off your hideous and grotesque nurse gown off since it was a bit too clingy and extensive to your toes.

Instead, you place the silk gown on the broken glass that disperse around the window so you can shun the glass from cutting yourself. It was a simple task...suppose. Allas you escaped, you were only on the 1st tier which was only counterfeit luck.

What you saw was completely the least vivid to your naked eye. Cars, trucks capsized over, some caught on fire, houses looking like they had had an incursion. The whole hometown you revered has been pulverized and became a catastrophe. Was this a hallucination..possibly just my imagination...You think. Whatever had happened made a lethal impact. Roads compacted with littering debris, it was repulsive and demolished.

"Hello?" You call out to the desolated streets. There was no riposte, yet the crackling sound of the glinting fire that has not yet to cease. Behind, you hear a almost choked growl, sounding so disturbing and strained you couldn't bear to move or hesitate. It defiantly wasn't an animal or a human, no human can make that doubtful and unfitting noise. You turned from your initial post and gasped.

It was pretty hard to explain the barbarous monster. It almost looked like a human corpse that disintegrated to the most ashen it can possibly appeal, a disfigured jaw that snapped ravenously. It finally ran towards you and your first instinct was to yell.. But with an impetuous decipher, you grasp the small like knife from earlier in your back pocket and eagerly with a resolute temptation and thrashed it into its frontal skull. The evoked corpse immediately collapsed and was motionless. You decided not to discomfit it even though it's probably dead, you don't want to risk it. "Wow that was total badass y/n" you say to yourself over phlegmatic since you knew no one was around.

Well you thought no one was around. You hear the faint croak of the monsters ahead. Lets just call them walkers for now. Anyways, their heading your way simultaneously at an erupting speed. Before you become more perceptible for the swarm of walkers, you instantly without a qualm, dive under someones Mercedes (wonder what's that doing in an apocolypse). There was very meager time but you made it with surprising speed. The walkers proceeded their trek to their next ravenous destination which was quite unpleasant to ponder about. I wonder if there are any other refugees out there...sure I'm not the only-

Your thoughts were suddenly adjourned by a sudden tug at your ankle. To your surprise, a walker caught suspicion, maybe from your fragrance, and grasped on your ankle desperately.  At this point you thought it was pretty futile to cease any of this as the walker caught others surrounding it's attention impulsively. "HELP. SOMEONE" you say a bit anemic but audible. Now with your whole leg almost exposed, you tried to kick them, but it wasn't the most intimidating for the walkers.

A gun shot was suddenly fired off into the distance, the walker that has corrupted your haven was diverted to the person who made the gunshot. You sighed in relief and silently thanked the person who fired the gunshot. You frantically made your way out eluding the dead corpses. "Stay back" The person divulged showing no sympathy and trying to uphold themselves.

"Please" You interpreted anxiously "I surrender and mean no harm." You drop the knife which briskly made a small clutter on the blood-covered asphalt beneath consciously. The boy walked over and glared at me. Almost looking keenly like a sheriff or a constable on a vigil. Except they looked more thrilling and intimidating with their gun-in-pouch and acute glare, and the devious hat  that excluded their face.

"How many people have you killed?" He began to interrogate. Okay so you don't trust me yet...you say sarcastically in your head. "None officer. Look All I know is that I woke from a coma and now the whole world is suddenly invaded by an apocolypse and there's walking dead corpses trying to devour me.". "You didn't answer my question" He said sternly. You sighed from his churlish response. "No sir" You say reverting your eyes to the ground.

"Do you have any one else with you" He said trying to fathom his trust to me. "Nope, it's just me I swear, is there anything else you like to know, officer?" You said a bit audaciously.

"I actually have several more interrogations but that can wait once we get to our camp. For now I will trust you, but i forewarn you to not attempt any harm, mischief, or threats or I will shoot you. Got it?"

"i got it" You said a bit perturbed by the invasive interrogations. "You have a camp?" You said a bit relieved.

"Yes. Not many people..What's your name again." He asked

How many god damn answers does an officer need for having the sweet authority of relying on me? You said spitefully in your head.

"My name's Y/N" you said finally.

He hmed a bit as if he was getting premonitions being around you but extended his arm out to you gingerly, which was a bit grimy from what looked liked interference with the walkers or whatever you call them.

"Hi Y/N. I'm Rick" He said shaking your hand which was way more callused than your small lanky hand.

I don't know why but i really enjoyed making this chapter. Which isn't really often so I am actually really excited about this book series. I'm sorry that this chapter was short and abrupt! I promise next one will be more long- Dispirited
