chapter 1: the room

We were being called into the great hall. Headmistress McGonagall had an announcement for us all. Me and ginny were talking about what the announcement might possibly be.as we sit down at the gryffindor table with harry and Ron. We  decided that we should see other people that we weren't right for each other.well at least ron did. i still have the same feelings for him that i had during first year,i loved him.after the battle we all changed for the good or bad. war changes people. bringing me out of thought McGonagall begins to rise.

"Can I have your attention please" she says and everyone falls silent and looks at her

"As most of you know the battle of Hogwarts took place last year on may second so to honor our fallen friends and family. The staff and I have put a few nights aside for any 6th and 7th year student who wishes to attend the masquerade ball. The rules are no dates are to be previously made you date will have to meet them on the first night and from then on you dance with that person on the other two nights second is you may not revel your name until the last night. then you revel who you are there must be a different outfit for each night but the same mask.all 6th and 7th years students have been excused from the rest of the classes today  to go to hogshead and get outfits for the first night. the dance will be tomorrow  , the second night will be on the night night after   and the last night will be on may second. do as you wish you are now dismissed." she says 

as we leave the great hall to drop off our bags grad our money and head to hogsmead. we meet up with Luna, pavarti, pansy. when we returned to Hogwarts at the begging of the year the slytherins that did return apologized for what they had done and how they treated us. they even apologized to me. well at least some of them have.

"alright we have a few hours to get our dresses and other accessories. lets get going. i know there is a dress shop here somewhere does anyone know what its called " ginny says

"its called rosmertas dress shop" i say as they look at me like i am crazy

"i got my dress and stuff for the yule ball ." i say

"alright then lets get going hermione you lead the way" ginny says

as we walk down the path and find the small dress shop that everyone seems to ignore

     as we walk into rosmertas dress shop. the girls are in awe they wander off looking at dresses. each one found something for them to wear and me yet nothing. all of these just weren't what i was looking for. the girls come out of the dressing rooms looking very satisfied and they all payed for there dresses and we left. 

                   we headed back to the castle and we all parted ways ginny to gryfindor tower,pansy to the slytherin dormitories, and Luna left to the ravenclaw dorms, me i  started patrol now that i am head girl,i have to share a dorm with head boy draco.not as bad as it seems ron and harry are leaving  to start auror training at the ministry they already talked about it with me and ginny and mcgonagall.that's why neither of them are head boy and draco was a prefect so he had all of the qualities he even came back with is mother to help us fight. 

        as i am patrolling the 7th floor i walk past to see a door. partly cracked open. i know that i must check to see if any students are in there.I look to see nothing but three trunks all solid black and i walk to the first to see a dress. long,white,sleevless, with a touch of lace on it i pick the dress up to see shoes heels solid  white ones ,a pure black mask,jewelry earrings and a necklace with small diamond dangling on it and all it was perfect for the masquerade ball. being my curious self i walk to the next trunk and open it to yet see another dress this time it was pure black with a jeweled top,strapless like the one before and i lift it up to see a box of  shoes once again shoes that this time were pure black, and a necklace like before but instead of a white diamond it was a black one. it was beautiful. the next trunk had a silver lining on it instead of being all black. I opened the last trunk sitting inside was a pair of heels on top not a dress, the heels were green like a dark green with a silver lining on them i lift the shoes to see a box i pick the box up and open it. inside was the most beautiful gown i had ever seen it was a dark green,long dress with a black belt and strapless,with a silver lining around the edges of the top. they were perfect for the ball one for each night. i will save the green one for the last night.no one will know its me. no one would expect the gryffendor bookworm to dress in such wear. no one would see its me. it's time for a change. for the better not for worse. 

                                       i close the trunks to shrink them and put them in my bag i mutter the spell for each trunk and put them in my beaded bag. walking out of the room i continue my patrolling wondering where that door came from. then it hit me. the room of requirements survived. it didn't get ruined in the fire.
