Hinata and I stood outside the gates, waiting for them to open, as we did most mornings.

"What did you get for number twelve on the math homework, Hina-chan? I think I did it correctly, but I struggled with it quite a bit last night." Hinata pulled out her homework and recited her answer.

"Uhh...B is equal to one fourth-- one half of r plus twelve times the difference of eight and h. Oh, I didn't simplify, hang on." She did her best to work quickly, though it must have been difficult, seeing as she was at an awkward angle. "Okay, B is equal to one half of r plus 72, no wait, 96 minus 12h. Is that what you got?" I nod and check the rest of my answers as fast as I can.

While I'm finishing up, two familiar figures approach us. Hinata looks at me and I start digging through my bag. I have to put my homework up first, but I manage to pull out a small green notebook. I put to the side while I close my bag.

"Hina-chan! Yuu-chan! Sorry we're late!" Ayano motioned to Danielle, "This one decided to sleep through her alarm."

"Sorry, I was up all night studying," Danielle said after yawning.

"You need to stop overworking yourself!" Ayano groaned. Hinata and I shared a knowing look, since Danielle probably spent at least half the night watching some show she was currently obsessed with.

"Ayano, here," I hand her the notebook I was holding, "For something that means so much to you, you sure do forget it a lot." I chuckle, hoping not to offend her.

"Yeah, well... Whatever. Come on, the gates are about to open." Ayano begins to walk towards them, not bothering to wait for the rest of us.

"I hope Fusha-sensei is in a good mood today..." We approach the school gates, waiting to see the health teacher who guards them before the day starts.

"Good morning, Fusha-sensei!" The four of us call out in unison as we walk past the muscular teacher.

"Good morning," he replies, this time in a soft tone.

"Looks like today is going to be pretty calm for his students," Ayano stated once he was out of earshot.

"I wonder what's wrong though, it looked like something was troubling him," Danielle added.

"I don't know, but it's probably nothing too big. See you guys later." Hinata said as her and I left for our classroom, and Ayano and Danielle spilt up to go to theirs.

"Too bad we aren't all in the same class, huh?" I say just before we enter the classroom.

"Yeah, but it can't be helped. It was pure luck you and I got two classes together, and then you have your last class with Danielle." I sigh and mumble something in agreement, since Hinata was right once again.

We enter the classroom and hang out off to the side, since we still had a little while before we needed to be seated.

"I wonder what what we're doing today," Hinata asked suddenly.

"Probably more review." I respond.

"No, I mean in homeroom."

"Eh? Homeroom?" I tilt my head to the side out if habit as I wait for Hinata to explain.

"Yeah, Isi-sensei said she had an announcement for tomorrow, or, today." I begin scratching the back of my head.

"Oh, that makes sense. I must have been distracted at the time." I try to sound casual about it, but Hinata and I both knew it was an excuse I used a little too often.

"You're not interested in boys, so I don't see what it could've been." I pout angrily at Hinata, upset at the information she just falsely released.
