The New Republic (An introdcution)

The Purge

When the world is in chaos, anarchy is rampant, poverty the norm, climate change, extinction of life, loss of the earth's beauty, and life is reduced to rubble. Something must be done. The Watchers who once guided and lead humanity from the shadows have sprung into action. From the masses they have chosen a select few to form a new belief in humanity's future. The New Republic they will be called, they would hide and gather their strength. Instilling agents in various governments in the highest of ranks: generals, senators, and even presidents. Aided by the watchers they would soon have influence and power. Secretly on islands never known by man, they built weapons, armies of machine and men. They with the guide of the watchers had technology man could only write and imagine. They remained dormant, waiting for the moment to strike

On the early morning of a stormy August on the 2050th year. Giant war ships roamed the skies of every major city in every major country. America and Russia felt the strongest force of the New Republic. From the ships that covered the skies came a hail of towering pods, containing soldiers equipped with guns that chew through tanks ,and armour that gave them inhuman capabilities, they were faster, more agile and could resist blows after blows of damage.

The countries of the world tried and failed to retaliate, their soldiers gunned downed into piles, their weapons of war obsolete to the New Republic's war machines. Their tanks stomped by giant walking machines of death, bases bombed by weapons that ravaged the earth's crust. Finally the governments of the world resorted to launching nukes in their own cities to halt New Republic advance. However out from hiding came the agents of the New Republic, disabling nuclear launching facilities, crippling communication from within and assassinating veteran generals and commanders, doubling the disadvantage the countries already had. Soon America, Russia, China—the world super powers would fall, and their cultures wiped as museums, schools, art galleries, monuments and capitals would be razed to the ground. Their flags burnt and replaced with the New Republic banner. Civilians in panic would see their culture deteriorate in flames and see only the New Republic banner emerge from the ashes.

The campaign took 5 years, as countries fell one by one, those who still fought were wiped, entire families executed, some just surrendered when the giant flying warships flew by their cities. The last standing against the New Republic were the Ho-Ro front, a united front of Asian and European soldiers and civilians, lead by ex-representatives who escaped from assassination. Their last stand was Nottingham a large, heavily fortified city that had its own food and water source. But eventually fell on 2054, marking the end of the campaign.

Next came the Purge, the complete and absolute destruction of the old world, left over objects of national resemblance: flags, banners, posters, statues, history books, etc. Civilians were separated from their families and categorized into Male and Female, dependent on their biological sexual organs and behavior. All adult males were tagged on the back of their necks, syringes implanting microscopic chips that connected to their nervous systems. Then they were sent to hibernation, healthy female adults were checked for fertility, the infertile were operated on to regain fertility before being tagged as well and sent to hibernation. Children and elderly were not tagged, the stress caused by the process had lethal consequences, instead the children were indoctrinated, while the elders were spared(executed).

The New Republic spent decades renovating the world: destroying old human cities then assisting nature to restore its natural state. The New Republic also built gigantic city complexes that were eco-friendly. Slowly the hibernating populace were by portions awoken from their slumber and were processed. Being given a number that could be uniquely identified, then the families were matched. Fathers, mothers, sons and daughters were reunited and given assigned homes and work. After the individuals with families were all but gone, the people with no families were categorized, the healthy talented were given work and assigned homes, however the weak and talentless were put into cryo-sleep where they will remain in ice, until they are needed. 300 years later the New Republic made Earth a dystopian paradise. Free healthcare, education, clothing, etc. People could live in the beauty of the great architectures around them or the natural and renovated purity of nature.

At last the remaining portion that were left in cryo-sleep of the past been thawed out, they were given their new identity and were never told of how long they were asleep, only that their past world was a dream and that they must accept the new reality: One government, one nation of man, and one Emperor to rule it all. In this world they would find only control and oppression. They decide if they would find their new born world a paradise or a purgatory. But one thought infests in their mind and it sends shivers down their spine and curdles their blood. This question was a natural response to such drastic changes. "What becomes of our future?"
