prologue
10:48 p.m
His breaths were heavy, his heart was pounding every single time he would look at her, almost lifeless, her eyes closed, and she was never moving, as he carried her in his strong arms. He panicked, pleading her to wake up as he rocked her back and forth, but still, she never moved or even opened her eyes. His eyes scanned the entire street, but it seemed to him that everything was a blur. The shattered pieces of the car windows, and the windshield were still scattered on the hard ground. When he turned to look at his wrecked and destroyed car that was hit by a ten-wheeler truck, he never felt anything but depression. He looks back at the love of his life, still barely moving. As he heard the familiar red light and sirens of the ambulance approaching, he felt relieved but still, his worry never left him.
He looks at her, his eyes were filled with sympathy. He brushed the hair from her forehead, as he saw a deep cut. "It's all my fault." He could never stop blaming himself. Tears were forming from the edge of his eyes, the more he looked at her.
"I'm sorry," he whispered, his voice was broke. Hoping when she somehow opened her eyes again, she would forgive him for everything he had done.
