Chapter 1- New Beginnings

Today is the first day of school after winter break. It's a new year, so that means New hair, new makeup, new clothes, and new people.

Oh! I totally forgot to introduce myself. My name is Madeline. Madeline Russet. Yes Russet. My parents are Matt and Whitney. I guess you can compare my parents to Victoria and David Beckham. My mom is a super model & fashion designer, my dad on the other hand is a manager for the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team.

And then there's me, Madeline Russet, a 15 (Almost 16) year old rich girl that lives in a mansion with a ton of money, the most popular girl in school, and finally, girlfriend of the most popular and hottest guy. I live in my family's gigantic mansion in Malibu. I have a 14 year old brother named Jaxton, he is such a swagfag! My boyfriend is Mason Crawford, quarterback for the football team and heart throb at our school. He is two years older than me so we get a lot of attention at school.

Everyone thinks my life is perfect, but that all went downhill. Let me begin with the last day of Sophomore year..

*Beep beep beep* I groaned as I picked up my phone and turned off the alarm. Here it was, June fifth, the last day of school.

I sat up in bed and stretched while looking checking my phone. A good morning text from Mason awaited for me on my phone. He really knows how to make me happy, especially in the morning.

I walked to the sink in my bathroom and began to get ready for my last day. Today I wanted to be extra fancy, so I did a grey smokey eye along with blush, bronzer, and a baby pink lipstick. If you knew me, you would know that I love makeup!

After I'm finished getting ready, I made my way downstairs to the kitchen. My mom was sitting at the table talking to her manager.

"Good morning darling!" My mom walked over to me and kissed my cheeks.

"What are you doing here? Aren't you suppose to be in New York?" I asked as I got a glass of orange juice.

"Yes but I'm leaving tonight, I just wanted to see my children."

"Mom, I'm not a child! I'm going to turn sixteen in August! Oh and speaking of sixteen, when can I start planning my sweet sixteen?!"

"On Monday we'll go to lunch and discuss with the party planner. Now carry along to school, it's getting late."

I got my purse and went to the driver.

School went by really fast because we didn't do anything in our classes. After school Mason took me to In N Out. We both got cheeseburgers and milkshakes.

"So do you want to hang out tonight?" I asked as I set my tray if food on the table.

"Well I heard that Austin Rivers is throwing an 'end of school' party. We can pass by if you want." he explained as he took a bite out of his burger.

"Sure, that sounds fun."

After we ate, Mason drove me home.

Once we were parked in front of my house, I gave him a kiss and got out of the Mercedes.

"Remember it's going to be a house party, not a red carpet event, so don't dress too fancy." he shouted before speeding away.

I walked into the mansion. It was quiet. Too quiet.

"Hello? Anyone home?" I yelled waiting for a response.

"In the kitchen!" Jaxton yelled back.

I walked into the kitchen where Jaxton was sitting at the counter with a couple of friends.

"Where's mom and dad?"

"They left already. Won't be back until Monday."

Suddenly my smile turned into a slight frown. Another weekend without our parents, I thought..
