Abigail, are you Ready to go, you're going to be late and its your first day" my dad said putting on his jacket.
"Do I have to go?" I say while i walk down the stairs. "I mean why can't I stay home just a little bit longer".
"Because Abigail, it's your first day of junior year in LA since we moved, I think it's time for you to start today."
"What if I go and everyone hates me, cause you know I'm the new girl" I say making quotations with my middle and pointer finger.
"I doubt that, you're so lovable and friendly. Everyone is gonna love you" he says. "Hey if you think about it, you might even find a boyfriend here" as he winks at me.
"OH MY GOD DAD! Are you serious, you're so embarrassing" I say covering my eyes with both hands.
I grab my bag giving him my signature stare that I normally give him when I'm not in the mood for his jokes, and he grabs the keys, we both walk out the door and into the car.
While he's driving, he gives me his old pep talk and tells me to be a good student and not to put myself in any gangs.
I start laughing, "HAHAHAHA, you really think I would be in a type of gang?"
"I don't know what you teens do these days" while he lets out a letting out a small giggle.
"Trust me dad, you don't have to worry about me getting into any gangs or fights here in LA. I'm not like that and I never will be" i say looking out the passenger window.
We get to the high school, and I feel like I'm sinking lower and lower into my seat. "Oh my god, I never been so nervous".
"Abigail", my dad said stroking my shoulders, "look at me, you will do just fine, I know how proud your mom would be if she was still with us".
My mother passed away almost 4 months ago. She was on a business trip in NYC and someone mistook her for someone else and shot her.
Whenever my dad got that call, both of our hearts dropped a thousand feet to the ground.
It was the worst news I had ever heard in my 16 years of life.
I miss her so much, words can't even describe the Paine I was in for the past 3 months.
I used to go to support groups and a therapist, but we recently moved to LA in the past month because my dad and I needed a change. But we are still looking for a new therapist.
This is a new month and I'm trying to be happy and thankful that I have the best father in the world.
But I know she's still with me and watching over me like a beautiful angel I know she is, I just know it.
I smile and look down, "ya I know she would be proud of me".
He leans over and kisses my cheek. "I Love you Abigail grace".
"Love you too" I say getting out of the car.
----
There is a big set of stairs in front of the school. I look at it for a minute and then walk up them.
I here my dads car drive away from in back of me, so I can't turn back now.
"Ok Abigail you can do this" I say in my head as I open the doors to enter.
As I walk into the office to tell them that the new student is here, the bell rings *DING DING DING*
I jumped alittle, "wow that's pretty intense"
"Oh trust me I know" said a lady in the office.
"You must be the new student, what's your name sweetheart"
"Abigail Donavan" I said in a shy voice.
"Well it's nice to meet you Abigail, my name is Mrs. Gilbert, I'm the vice principle here at " Beverly Hills high school"
"Nice to meet you too".
We both head out of the office, but she leads.
She shows me to the nurses office and then guidance.
"I talked to your dad and he told me about your mom" Mrs. Gilbert said as she opens the door to the guidance." I'm very sorry, but if you ever need time for yourself you are more then welcome to come in here and talk or just close you eyes and relax".
"Thank you so much, I really appreciate it." I say picking my fingers in nervousness.
"Oh no problem Hun, it must be hard but I think you are doing just fine. If you ever need someone to talk to, you are more than welcome to come and talk to me."
"Ok thanks so much".
We walked for about 10 minutes just getting to know her and the school.
"So, are you ready to go to your first class? I think there is only 10 to 15 minutes left, but if you go now i bet you will meet someone who has some of the same classes as you".
"Umm, ya I think I'm ready."
I hate being the new girl and have everyone just stare at you when you walk into class. It's so awkward.
Mrs. Gilbert shows me to my class.
"Do you want me to walk you in, or are you good on your own?" Mrs. Gilbert said.
"I think I'm good, thanks for all your help"
----I finally walked into the class....
The teacher welcomed me in as everyone pretty much just dropped what they were doing and just stared. (Like I said, they stared)
"You must be Abigail the teacher said, I'm mr. Forbes".
"Hi" I said looking around the room until my eyes stopped and froze on someone.
"Abigail?!!? Mr. Forbes said. "Abigail are you okay?"
I suddenly stopped looking and looked back at Mr. Forbes.
"Oh I'm sorry haha, I'm fine."
"Ok then you can sit right here" as he shows me where to sit while his arm is reaching out.
I look to where he wants me to sit, it's near that person who I was looking at.
"Are you serious" I said in my head. "I know this person, how do I know him?"
Ok so that was the first chapter. Sorry it wasn't that great, but trust me it will get so much better. I'm going to try to post a new chapter every week. :)
In the mean time... PEACE!! Love ya girl, Kailey💋
