Me and Marianna both sat on our king side beds it had to be about 10 o'clock at night. Marianna's long black curly hair was pulled up into a high ponytail while my curly short hair were in Bantu knots. Marianna pointed at something on her Mac laptop, it was an old dusty, cabin there were cobwebs all over the walls.. and a man.....that was hung, he had to be hung a long time before the picture was taken, because they were flies already on his rotting flesh. I looked at the picture in shock. Flick flick, the lights were flickering and we were home all alone. Marianna went downstairs to check out what was happening, she ran upstairs maybe the fastest she has ran in a long time. "We have to go now!" She said panting opening the windows, "we have to jump"
"What's wrong" I said in worry while Marianna was ready to jump two stories down
"There is no time to explain" Marianna said while looking back at me, her face turned pale and she was frozen in shock a strand of her dark black hair turned white, I looked behind me slowly. It was the man in the photo, but he looked deformed his skin peeling and rotting, his teeth black, and the rope he was hung with around his skinny neck. He suddenly disappeared in our room. Marianna had already jumped. I looked outside our marble window she was ok, I sighed in relief.
"Ariel jump now!" I jumped and landed on my right ankle you could hear the crack in my ankle when I landed I looked at it and it was bright red with a little blood coming out, I was cringing with tears in my eyes. We looked in the community everyone's lights were off except for the nice warden's house. Marianna was a strong girl and didn't have a problem with carrying me. Marianna knocked on her door, the warden looked down at us and was worried, she hurried us in and wrapped my leg with a bandage she kept in her emergency drawer.
"It happened to you too... didn't it" the warden said looking worried, her face was pale just like Marianna.
"The man?" Marianna said while I was trying to ease the pain in my ankle
"Yes...did he hurt you?"the warden asked intrigued in our conversation
"No, he just kinda.., disappeared" I said leaning back on her leather black couch.
"Don't go to the 24th street anymore, please don't" the warden said in a low quiet voice, she sounded very worried
"Ok I'll take your word for it, and by the way what's your name?" Marianna said getting up from her seat to sit closer to me to see how my ankle was doing.
"Oh well you can just call me Jane" she said with a tiny smile
