You were Elena's younger sister, Jeremy's twin, and had known about the supernatural. Elena had told you to help keep you safe around the Originals. Stefan had told her about them coming a few weeks ago, but she waited, debating if she should tell you.
Stefan then told her that she should, so that you know not to hang around them, and so you could protect yourself at times that you were by yourself.
Even though you knew about the Originals, you didn't know what they looked like. So when you were in the Mystic Grill one day, having some coffee with Elena and Bonnie, you couldn't tell that a certain Original was staring at you.
"I-uh have to go to the bathroom" You said in a flustered state from the intense stare down you were having.
Elena and Bonnie nodded, continuing their conversation. You shuffled to the table that Kol sat at, suddenly being confused on how you got so confident to actually approach him.
"I'm Y/N" You smiled and put your hand out for him to shake.
"I know" He smiled back, shaking your hand.
"But-how- nevermind, you're supposed to say your name back" You brushed off his comment.
"Kol" He stated, admiring your confidence. "Excuse my staring, I just couldn't help but look at a beautiful creature such as yourself"
"You get around a lot, don't you?" You tilted your head at Kol.
He let out a small chuckle and nodded. "I have, but not so much anymore"
"Oh, and that's supposed to help" You raised an eyebrow at him, but still laughed.
"Yes, I hoped it would"
Your face became as red as the flowers on the table. You stuttered, not finding the proper words to say. Then you saw your sister and Bonnie still chatting at the table.
"My-uh sister, yeah my sister, is probably wondering where I went. So I'm gonna, um, go. It was very nice to meet you" You scratched the back of your neck and quickly turned around, pacing towards the table.
"And who was that you were talking to?" Bonnie raised her eyebrows in a teasing gesture at you.
"Uh, no one" You bit your lip and looked up to see Kol still looking at you.
"C'mon, tell us" Elena nudged your arm and sipped her tea.
"His names Kol" Your face grew redder and you looked down.
Elena choked on the coffee in her mouth and looked back at the boy, who was gone.
"No, stop talking to him, stop looking at him, j-just stop everything to do with him" Elena panicked.
"Why?" You and Bonnie gave Elena a confused look.
"He's an Original"
You looked at the vacant spot that was once his all of one minute ago. You couldn't believe you were that close to an Original. You didn't expect him to kill you, there were too many people around. That's why he must've flirted.
