Cuddles

'Tis the season was already winter. It was freezing outside, so they decided to stay inside for the rest of the night. Papyrus was in his room, dozing off after a busy day handling the kingdom. Meanwhile, Asgore was stuck in the librarb...uh, library, so he could not return home yet. Thus, there were only Skeledad and Tori left in the house.

Sans walked up to fireplace and put some firewood. Then, he made a fire and returned to his chair, sitting down to ease himself. As he was about to fall asleep, he spotted Toriel from across the wall.

"C'mon, you know I can see you, kid," he grinned.

The goat wearing the pink hoodie shuddered from his words. She looked away before saying nervously,"I-I know that, ok!? Just woke up from my nap..."

"Get yourself here. Let's do something to pass the time, no?" Sans suggested, reaching out his hand.

Nodding her head in response, Toriel could feel the butterflies in her stomach. Was it her blooming feelings toward the fatherly-acting skeleton, or just the cold weather? She shivered while heading to the fireplace. It took her about 2 minutes before her position was finally next to Sans's chair.

'Knock it off!! He's only showing his usual friendly gesture,' her train of thoughts going nuts as she sat down on the carpet. Trying to act natural, Toriel said,"So... you were saying?"

Heaving a lazy sigh, Sans patted her head-- which made Toriel's face reddened even more. "Wanna hear a story?"

"I rather talking with each other instead."

"Hmm... I see," he pouted, putting a hand under his chin,"Cold weather we're having outside. It's getting into my BONES."

"Pfft...!" Toriel could not help but giggling to the pun he made. He knew her too well that she loved his puns so much, though he was unaware of her true feelings. After doing some hard thinking, an idea popped into her head, which would make the convo go on for a long time.

"I know, right? I would BREAK A LEG just to get outta here. Haha!" she pouted before continue laughing. Sans felt relieved looking at her being cheerful and everything.

"Not funny enough... but a good effort there. You're way too cute to be HUMERUS," he replied bluntly. Hearing Sans saying that, Toriel felt like there's an electric shock zapping herself, making her jumping out in a mere second.

"M-maybe if you give me some tuTORIEL to make funny ones, I would become a SANSational comedian later on, wouldn't I?" she asserted.

Chuckling, he got up from his chair. "All these puns make me hungry. Is there still ketchup in the fridge?" he asked lazily.

A sudden urge from Toriel forced her to hold him from distancing her. Toriel thought that she was only dreaming, yet a very realistic one. She surprised Sans much by hugging his arms tightly and said, "Don't go."

"Why? I'm only about to go to the kitchen," he asked with a confused expression.

Out of nowhere, her conscience snapped her childish act. "Eeek!!" She quickly pulled away from him.

Sans tilted his head to face Toriel closer. His concern seemed to develop bigger, wondering why the goat had been behaving strangely that night. "You okay, dear?"

Twiddling her fingers, Toriel stuttered,"It's... cold, I hate being... alone, and I just wanna stay warm, alright--"

She was cut off when she was being tucked into Sans's torso. Being unable to move, she decided to stop squirming and enjoyed the moment.

"You shoulda just said that you need some cuddles, kid." After a long silence, they slowly distanced themselves away. "Seriously, though, I need some ketchup to keep me awake guarding you. Don't wanna let you bothered by the monsters outside."

He then heard Toriel snickered. When she finally settled down, her face was white again and said, "Thanks! Now, lemme check if there's any pie left."
