the girl under the red umbrella

"have you heard of the girl with the red umbrella that walks in the rain? apparently, she offers students with no umbrellas to walk with her. and i heard that she coaxes her victims just so they could walk with her!"

"wow, that's one tricky girl. wait, what's the issue anyway? please don't tell me this is another of your ridiculous, scary rumors. its probably not true."

"ah, just shut up and let me talk. anyway, this girl actually has issues about body image and she kills her victims in the most ruthless way possible! i don't know how she does it, but it's just so horrible that the victims' families don't even recognize their child anymore!"

"so... is she a ghost?"

"nope! now, that's the most creepiest thing. she still goes in here at our school, which means that there's a high percentage of this rumor being true."

"what?! but that's crazy! gah, i think a chill just went down my spine."

"here's another fact about her victims: all of them are extremely pretty and handsome! remember akihiko-senpai and yuri-chan? didn't they go missing last year? and i recently heard from our seniors that two students had gone missing for the past five months!"

"i can't do this anymore! let's just go home! i'm getting shivers from hearing all of your stories!"

"ya, you should always bring your umbrella, huh? who knows, that girl might be just lurking around, looking for the perfect victim to kill when it rains."

"aren't you going to go home, fukui junko?"

the familiar voice made junko sigh out of annoyance, and she turned around from the window to look at the smirking face of her classmate, nakamura takashi. in their school, takashi was considered as a famous pretty boy who had all the girls in every section wrapped around his little finger, and as much as junko found him handsome, she didn't want to be involved with whatever he was always thinking, or planning. the last thing she wanted before she graduated was to make every girls in their school her enemies.

takashi wasn't all that great, to be quite honest. his grades were horrifyingly bad for someone who came from a wealthy family, his manners were poor and lacking, and the way he speak was just utterly annoying—at least, for junko. maybe she was the only one who saw takashi in that kind of perspective, but she didn't like the way she thought of him because she was judging him based on his actions, and she truthfully wasn't fond of judging anyone.

the boy just kept on pushing the worng buttons whenever they converse, and she would love to be out of his way as much as possible.

with a sigh, junko looked back at the window to watch the grey, stormy clouds weeping down their city. it was unfortunate of her to not bring her umbrella today when the weather forecast had promised a sunny day, specifically today.

goddammit, if only onii-chan woke me up sooner the maybe i would've brought my umbrella with me, she thought to herself as a frown appeared on her face, takashi long forgotten as she returned back to her desk to fix her things.
