Fantasia : the new world

The double

Ken watched Ravi drink his tea with a big smile. He alone knew the contents of this cup. He had spent years refining this art. He knew every herb, its composition and how to prepare it. The one he had used had a light and sweet taste, and above all it had the capacity to make confess all the secrets to the person who drank it. Of course, over time, Ken had also learned to be immune to the virtues of these plants, but this was not the case for this first-year student. Ken watched Ravi drink a few more sips from his drink before starting the conversation. "You and your friends seemed to have trouble to be part of Fantasia," said Ken. He received no reply from Ravi. The latter was more absorbed by the contents of his glass. Ken tried another strategy. "It reminds me of my arrival at this school. Nor was I welcome and I did not think I could stay long, but as you see I managed to take my place and I even became a teacher, "said Ken. "Were you also an unknown ? » Ravi asked. Ken shook his head. "No, I've always been a transformist. I think it helped me a lot because I was able to take revenge by pretending to be someone else. I had a lot of fun, finally until the director discovered that I was taking the appearance of people to do stupid things, "said Ken. "You are able to take  the appearance of another person?» Ravi asked. Ken burst out laughing. "Of course, all transformers are able to take the appearance of a person or an animal. Look at that, "Ken said. He then assumed the appearance of one of Ravi's friends. "Hakyeon?" Cried Ravi. Ken burst out laughing and resumed his normal appearance. "You see, we have a lot of talents," Ken said.

Ravi was stunned. Moreover, he was beginning to be afraid of this man who could pass for any person. This discovery weighed upon his conscience. How was he going to trust his friends now? How could he be certain that he had the right person in front of him? His professor had reduced all his certitude to dust. "Do not make this face. There's always a way to know if you have the real person or his double in front of you, "says Ken. "How?" Ravi asked impatiently to discover the technique. "Um, I'll let you find the solution on your own, after all you're an unknown, you should have some talent," Ken said. Ravi, disappointed with the answer, went back to contemplate his cup of tea. "Disappointed? » Ken asked. Ravi nodded. "But I guess you're not as disappointed as the day you found out you were an unknown. Everyone is still in shock. No one had ever had that title at Fantasia, but this year we have four peoples. Do you know why? » Ken asked. "No," replied Ravi. "But you have an idea," Ken insisted. "No I do not know," Ravi said. He knew that his teacher did not believe him, but he had nothing to say to him. He was not an idiot. It was not the first one who approached him to get information. Ravi was not a traitor, and he did not intend to divulge the secret of his friends, especially since he himself had difficulty understanding their situation. He got up and apologized before getting out of his teacher's office. He did not know at the time that Ken had more and more suspicions against him, especially knowing that he had managed to thwart the effect of a serum of truth. No first year had succeeded before him.

When Ravi came out of his personal development teacher's office, he realized what time it was. He had to stay for a long time in his teacher's office because it was now very late. All the students had to be sleeping. He should hurry to join his dorm, otherwise his professor of occult sciences would punish him. He ran along the corridors and tried to reach his room quickly. At the corner of a corridor, Ravi saw a shadow. As he looked closer, he realized that it was Hakyeon's. Where was he going in the middle of the night? Ravi then followed him. Hakyeon walked slowly and followed a straight line. It was as if he was still asleep. Was he somnambulist? Ravi wondered. He quickened his pace and tried to stop his friend, but a hand fell on his arm and Ravi felt prisoner between  two arms holding him tightly against a chest. He tried to scream, but a hand lay on his mouth. Ravi moved to break free. His kidnapper pushed him to the wall and gave him a sign to be silent. "Shut," Leo said. Ravi opened his eyes wide. What was doing his teacher  in the corridor at such a late hour? He defied Leo to show him he was not afraid of him, but his teacher had already turned to Hakyeon. He made a sign to Ravi to follow him in silence. "Why do you follow Hakyeon?" Ravi asked. He had only one " shut" in reply. Ravi then followed him in silence, but he had many questions in his head.

Leo had seen Hakyeon getting up from his bed and heading for a specific spot. Was he aware of what he was doing? No he did not think. Hakyeon seemed to be under the influence of an evil force. Leo could feel this force all around his student. But why Hakyeon? He did not know the answer, but he could not wake Hakyeon either. He must first find the source of this force. Awakening Hakyeon without waking him up from this spirit influence would make him lose his soul. Leo was worried. He did not know what kind of monster he had to deal with. He watched Ravi walking behind him in silence. He knew that Ravi also had questions but he could not answer them. Hakyeon then took a path that had not been used for years. This road was dangerous and full of surprises. Leo saw him sneaking through the walls and jumping over obstacles. How could he know this place as well? This was to be the first time Hakyeon had set foot in this place. For Leo, it was different, he had walked this way hundreds of times, because it was his shelter when he felt sad and lonely to have lost his brother. He made sure that Ravi followed him, and then he went on. At the end of a corridor, Leo came to a cave. He could not remember seeing this cave before, yet he felt his senses alert. Something was there, and it was not friendly.

"Who dares to enter my dwelling?» Said a hoarse voice. Leo looked on all sides but could not see anything. He approached Ravi. "If it gets dangerous, you have to run away," Leo whispered. "No, I do not leave without Hakyeon," replied Ravi. " I take care of him. You run, "Leo said. He turned to Hakyeon, who was now standing in front of a spring inside the cave. He was still in a trance. Leo did not know how to wake him up. He thought quickly to find out what kind of monster liked to live in such a place. Goblins? Snakes ? Ghosts? ... He did not know, he had to provoke this monster to force him to leave his hiding place. "It's me Jung Taekwoon, I'm the one who dares to visit you," Leo shouted. "OHHH what a surprise yet another Jung, the first was so delicious," said the voice. Leo froze. This monster spoke about his brother. Had he known him? Did he kill him? He wanted answers to his questions. "Did you kill him?" Leo asked. A hoarse laugh answered him. The monster seemed to have a lot of fun. "So you do not know the truth. What suffering. No, I did not kill your brother. Something stronger than I did, "said the voice. " Who ? » Leo asked coldly. Another laugh answered him. "Why not ask this young man who stands before you? » Said the voice. Leo looked at Hakyeon. So he was right. This young man knew something about the death of his brother. "Why do you blame this child? What did he do to you?» Leo asked. "Ho, why do you think I'm the bad guy in this story? I only answered his call. » Said the voice. Leo was shocked. No, this thing was lying. He was a monster and lied to get the better of him. He then became angry and began to recite his incantations. "No, please stop. I did not do anything. I just answered his call, "shouted the voice. Leo continued without listening. He had to beat this monster, otherwise he would be the prey. He continued his incantations. The monster screamed louder and louder. And suddenly nothing. He was gone.

Ravi had also felt the change in the atmosphere. He rushed to Hakyeon, who had just fallen to the ground. Ravi took him in his arms and tried to wake him up. But Hakyeon was completely asleep. "Stop, we'll take him back to his room," Leo said. Ravi nodded and took his friend in his arms to carry him. Hakyeon weighed heavily but he felt able to bring him back. He had done it once. Yet when Ravi turned, he could not hold back a cry. Leo rushed to him. " What is happening ?» Leo asked. Ravi could not answer. His eyes were fixed on the face that appeared on the surface of the spring water. Leo followed his gaze and was shocked. It was Hakyeon. The same look, the same smile, but with something different. This thing was not human and leo knew it. " Who are you ? » Leo asked. But he received no answer. Just a smile. The same smile that gave him chills. Leo took Ravi's arm and pushed him towards the exit. This thing had not come to fight, at least not that night. So he had to take advantage of it to escape. He had  detected any presence, no smell and no power, yet he had proof before his eyes that this thing was there. It must have been a very strong mind, strong enough to mask its presence. The ghosts were right. Something terrible was going on at Fantasia and the new students were partly responsible for it. He quickly left the cave with Ravi and Hakyeon. He did not hear the voice of this apparition answering his question: "I am Cha Hakyeon."
